Ok so, do reality checks really make a difference? I mean should I be doing them once a hour? I wanna lucid dream like 3 times a week on average. |

Keeper's right, there's no guaranteed way to reach 3 LD's a week, but RC's are a good start. Even if they don't lead you to doing RC's in your dreams, it will help you focus on lucid dreaming more in the day, so that during the night you'll have more spontaneous LD's. |

Reality checks do work, and are probably the most effective way of achieving dream induced lucid dreams. Three LD's a week is an excellent ambition, and doing a reality check once an hour is a good idea, however, a more effective way to reality check, is by using a trigger. For example, every time you look at your cell phone do a RC. Even more effective, is to keep a dream journal, and document your most frequent dreamsigns, and try to coincide RC's with them. As mentioned by keeper, the theory is that one day, your mind will trigger a RC in a dream, and you will become lucid. I personally use dreamsigns and RC's to become lucid frequently, the tutorials section probably has a huge catalogue, but here are a few that work for me: |

I think the type of RC is important. I have my doubts about RCs as part of some kind of scheduled ritual actually working. I have tried for weeks at a time doing the hourly RC and I have NEVER become lucid from doing that. Rather, I notice something odd in my dream THEN do an RC in the dream. So, as was said earlier I think it's more productive to do RCs when you encounter your dreamsigns in real life or when reality is very dream-like. Combining that with daily dream-journaling has given me the most sucess. |

i just do lots of RCs a day hoping to do them in a dream. its worked a couple of times. i just think "huh well i think ill do an rc right now cause i havent done one in a while. then it works and im like woah! i could have sworn i was awake." getting lucid 3 times a week though isnt guarenteed. the only way i think that you can for sure have lucid dreams 3 times a week is by learning and getting reeeeeeeeeeeeaaally good at WILDing |

When I do a reality checks I stop what im doing and pay attention to everything around me. I look for anything unusual, I read some text twice, and i try to breath through my nose when plugged. I've been doing this for a while, but when I dream I never do reality chacks. Should i include somethng else in my reality check? I do a reality checks through out the day whenever i think of them , which is about every 45 mins. |

I used to do Rcs alot, untill I did a Rc in a dream out of habit and it didn't work. Now I just try to be as aware douring the day as possible and I keep telling myself that If there is something scary or out of place I'll do a Rc. |

thanks everyone, I will do them and lucid soon!! |
