I'll be laying down... perhaps with a guided audio aid or whatnot...

And once I start feeling as if I'm starting to enter sleep etc. (hypnagogic stage) My eyes start fluttering in my eyelids... As if they're trying to force themselves open.... >_<

It really upsets me... it's almost as if they're moving so much my eyelids are hard to hold close... >_<

I get really frustrated with this, and I've been thinking of buying those things you put over your eyes when you sleep....

Any thoughts?(just remembered this before bed >_<)

That happened to me once when I nearly fell asleep a first time late at night. It never happens with my WBTBs though. But I think that if your room is as dark as possible, then it shouldn't matter too much. I started hearing sounds and vibrating the slightest bit even though I could sometimes see my real surroundings. Or yeah, try the sleeping mask if you're still having trouble. They're cheap and fun.

Do you wear contact lenses? I noticed this problem last night. My eyes were really dry though, since I wear contacts all day. I put lubrication drops in my eyes last night and it solved the problem.

I don't actually... They just flutter to piss me off!

      lol

I don't know, I think it comes from my focusing on trying too much.

I think I know why, sometimes this happens to me. The reason perhaps is that you are forcing your eyelids closed, meaning that you are not keeping them relaxed but rather trying too hard to prevent them from opening. Try to relax them, until they become unmoving.

If that's not the right solution, try looking in a different direction (with your eyes closed).

It's called REM. Rapid Eye Movement. The fact that they are moving around, changing rapidly, would actually mean you're asleep. Try let go, and let your eyes open your eyelids. Don't do it yourself, let your eyes do it.

I was thinking this, but didn't want to come to the conclusion myself.

It's definitely not from forcing them shut, I try dilligently to keep them in a lightly closed state. (which is what ends up creating the fluttering)

This always happens to me when attempting a WILD. It can be annoying because my eyes open a little bit here and there which can be distracting. It's usually not a problem though if you're in a darkness.
