A relaxation technique that can put you into a deeper state relaxtion-
the way this technique works is, you trick your mind into thinking that you are more sleepy. after you lie down, open your eyes about halfway and think something like "Man, it's getting hard to keep my eyes open." (maybe throw in a fake yawn too) then sort-of close your eyes a little more and shoot them open to where they just were (as if you were studying for a test late at night the night before the test and kept closing your eyes.) after a minute or two, this should make you feel a lot more tired.

EDIT: I haven't used this to LD yet, but I have used it to get me more relaxed in cars and on nights when I can't sleep.

Yeah, it is a nice technique. There is a similiar technique on the forum called reversed blinking. Maybe you can do a search on that and see.

Also, there's something else, your mind is very suggestive so trying to trick your mind like this is something that people often miss so that's a nice idea you have.

For me, there's other trick-for-your-mind-relaxing technique that actually put me in a Sleep Paralysis really fast. In a deeply relaxed state, I pretend I am struggling to get up because I "experience" a very fearful SP... twitching my muscles in order to get up, but not actually move my body so my mind thinks I am in a sleep paralysisd and hence slap me into that mode. It works too well sometimes haha. Very useful. I also use a lot of emotions in it so it convince my mind that I am experiencing a bad SP hence it forces me deeper in a SP; hence, producing a better condition for WILD-induced dreams.

Tricking is a tricky thing to do, but once you understand the concept of it, you can basically speed up your techniques that way including WILD.

Don't trust what you are seeing right now because you might be dreaming right now. Be LUCID! I repeat, be LUCID!

Yeah, I've used reversed blinking and it works really well. I've actualy had some LD's from it.

The SP trick sounds good, I think I'll give it a go tonight, thanks.

Yeah that SP trick sounds good! I'll give it a try too.
I have yet to hit real SP, (And to get a real LD
for that matter) but I've been kinda "watching"
myself as I doze off in the wonderful mornings of
Christmas break, and I think I'm learning to recognize
the onset of SP. The HI and sounds get more real,
I sorta 'sink' into the HI and at the same time feel
a tad heavy and tingly. Trouble is I think I focus on
it too much, and since I really want to get into SP
(it sounds cool) I get excited when i'm close.

When you go into SP, do you feel heavy while
still seeing/hearing the HI? Whenever I feel
      close it fades.

P.S. Is there a reason why it seems there are many people
on this forum from the Netherlands?

My apologises for taking forever to respond. Somehow, this thread got lost in my "view your posts" search.

Well, often people could not WILD or even experience a 100% SP is because they are too conscious and alert! The biggest secret of all is to fall asleep without falling asleep! Use a single thread to hold your consciousness not all threads! You must be as asleep as you can be without losing this "single thread." The better you are at isolating your consciousness down to one thread, the faster and easier WILD becomes.

Also you can practice that faking SP technique just before you wake up... when you wake up from a dream, DO NOT MOVE! DO NOT EVEN OPEN YOUR EYES! Remain completely still! And use this faking SP technique and if you are lucky, before you know it, you find yourself in 100% SP mode... a perfect condition for inducing a lucid dream. Oh yeah, with that fake SP technique... pretend you are asleep (don't react much with mind only emotions&#33. Mind has to be sleepy. Get what I am trying to say?

Hope those tips are helpful! Good luck with your lucid dreaming adverture!

(Waarschijnlijk is lucid dreaming in NL gewoon heel erg populair)

      Hello dreamers,

I'll go further in English because this is a english site.
Three weeks ago I started with Lucid Dreaming and I've been mostly spending my time on dream recall. But now I think it's the time to start with the real lucid dreaming but first I start I have a question
My question is, WILD is a very hard technique so is it good to start with WILD or should I start with another technique, such as MILD or FILD?
And how long it took for you to have your first LD?

      Bye
