Thread: Sudden Twitches While Falling Asleep

Sounds a lot like hypnic jerks. These occur mostly during stage 2 of the sleep cycle, and are perfectly normal. That's what I know of them, at least. I also know wikipedia has some stuff to say about it, too.

Yep, perfectly normal. I have experienced this also while during a WILD. I don't know if this is mentioned in the article that Abra gave but I remember reading once that this happens because as your falling asleep your body thinks your dying so it give a twitch. There is proper name for it but I can't seem to remember it.

I've had some really big twitches before. one time I was in bed going to sleep and all of a sudden my right arm jumped up about a foot and came back down. Some other times I've felt a big twitch in my leg, almost like someone had grabbed it and jiggled it.

yes i had those to. i tried to wild once, and got one of those. my entire body jumped, was almost like a shock type feeling through my body it was weird to say the least.

It is funny that your body thinks your dieing : P
