      Weird technique

Ok this is goona sound weird, but It works for me. When I go to sleep, if I put my arms up over my head I go lucid. Everytime I wake up from a lucid dream my arms are above my head and my arms feel kinda numb and tingly? So one night I purposely put my arms over my head and tucked it under a pillow to hold them there, and I sat there and let my mind wonder off thinking about things; not really specifically thinking about stuff just like autopilot mode (my normal routine) and sure enough I had a lucid dream again. Maybe it like something to do with the blood rushing from my arms, which is why they go numb and the numbness/tingly feeling triggers my concious brain - jump starting it. So then I relize that I am dreaming. and thus being able ot lucid dream.. ???????????????????????

And i feel like a kaka person right now so..--> KAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAAKKAAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAAAKAAKAKAKA .. ok fell better..
Itterasshai ! <--- did i spell that right

Its work 90% of the time. It makes me go lucid, but i am not good at staying lucid yet so I lose it within a 1-2 minutes period, then i end up waking up, so it's not good if I am trying to get some sleep for the night.
I have a blood flow problem from a accident so maybe that also has something to do with it ??

I tried it - seems like it works !
However I only had 'mild' LDs in the early REM cycles, and they were very fuzzy - don't recall them well either.

I dropped my arm (I only used one due to the cold) after I was woken sometime during the night, and didn't have another LD thereafter.
If I had continued, I'm pretty sure I would have had a good one

Since it *seems* to work, I'll keep doing it and see how it goes...

I'll try this, if I can last falling asleep with my arms ductaped to my head. It'll make for an interesting night/awakening.

woah... i had a very short, low level, LD last night. it was a false awakening, and before I could really do anything I woke up to find that it was only a few hours after I had gone to bed. but then I didnt do it again cause I couldn't find a comfortable position + i was just so freakin tired

Yes, most of the time it only give me low level "LD's",but something i get very vivid one's.Oh well, Its a start, MAYBE if I can find out what triggers it WITH my arms up i can learn how to trigger it with my arm down cause a week stright of trying to sleep with my arms up.. you start to feel really funny in the morning. I been sleeping on my back doing this, maybe i'll try on my front side just to see how it go's ! ja~na and goodluck to all.

Probably placebo effect, but an LD is an LD and if it works more power to ya. Going to try it tonight myself.

It probably won't work if you think it won't. You have to actually beleive it will work and maybe it actually will (placebo effect).

Well, when you put your arms over your head, your lungs expand, and you get more oxygen to the brain. Just an idea

OHH Java that a good scientific reason for all this instead of the whole placebo effect deal.. Hey but yea last night i did this and i have a super vivid LD and I do believe you have to believe it will work.. donno but i also advise not to try this everynight, cause it wont work everynight and that might make people give up on trying it like this. Hey but if it does anything for you. Spread the word maybe it can help some poor guy that hassnt even ever had even a low LD have a LD and give them hope for the future.. <-- does that sound corny to you or is it just me ??

I had my first lucid dream last night I couldn't believe that it worked, but i was thinking y it may work...I was thinking that maybe it concretes in ur mind the desire to have one, since everytime u think about ur arms, u think about the goal...

I tried it and had two very short (as far as I remember) dreams, a rarity for me. One of them I asked myself it was a dream, but as far as I know it was over then, and I didn't have any control to do an RC. The next dream was standard fare, with music I was listening to filtering into the dream (happens often for me, as I sleep with my headphones on).

      Are you dreaming?

I felt fine, I put them more at the top of my head when I slept, because when I put my arms over my face it pinched the vein that runs above the nose between the eyebrows, which I'm sensitive to for some reason and kept getting momentary headaches >_<

I'll have to try it a few more times to get actual evidence though.

maybe if your physical body is placed in sertin positions it will cause the fealing of the position to make you lucid.

      I'll try this tonight.
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
      - Albert Einstein
"We're so engaged in doing things to achieve purposes of outer value that we forget the inner value, the rapture that is associated with being alive, is what it is all about."
      -Joseph Campbell
"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilisation should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."
      -Albert Einstein
