So it turns out that I'm an idiot

Believe me, I'm very surprised to find that out. I always assumed I was pretty smart! (some of you may have your own opinions )

While dreaming last night, I thought to myself, "this is exactly like a dream!" no less than twice:

      1) after a car I was driving turned into a bicycle
      2) as I breathed underwater in a swimming pool

And I never became lucid! Think about the irony!

I won't bore you with the gory details, but the in-dream explanation for these odd events (and some others) turned out to be that I was living in an illusion created by a wizard. Apparently I was more willing to accept that than the possibility that I might be dreaming.

I just wanted to vent a little because I'm obviously hopeless.

this reminds me of the other night:

I was flying along, and i knew somehow that the dream was going to end and i thought, OH no, i better get home and get some sleep, so i can have a LUCID DREAM!
i said that to myself in a dream and did not freaking realize that i was dreaming

      ...nice one dumbass

      Your not alone. Here is an excerpt from last night, I feel really bad that I didn't recognize that I was dreaming;

My wife and I were eating at a resturant, and the waitress asked us if we drank wine.
We both said yes (my wife doesn't drink)
They brought out a bottle and poured in over ice cubes (NEVER, NEVER!)
When we left, my wife wanted my to put on red panty hose ( )
I tried to put them on by slideing my leg into one leg (still had my pants on and realized i needed to take them off)
I went to the bathroom (at my inlaws house, hey where did the resturant go?)
to do this and a friend of mine was logged onto DV(he doesn't even know it exists)
I signed on and began posting (the computer was balanced on the back of the bathtub)

Thats all I remember from that one..

And you call yourself an IDIOT? I'm the IDIOT!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

When my lil truck was a different colour every time I looked at it and it turned into a concession stand and then back to a truck....that should have been a clue, but I didnt become lucid.

I thought to myself when I awoke, "Smooth move, x-lax."

What gets me is that I was thinking, "Wow, this is exactly like a dream! I wonder what the explanation could be?"

I was lucid twice last night though, if only briefly, so I s'pose that makes up for it a bit...

These stories are hilarious because I know just how it is, especially the one with lowercase society, thats original..bawhahahaha!!! I've found myself in some of the same situations not realizing its a dream and just going with the flow. Like my Dog was the Train Conductor and he was driving the Train with one paw on the wheel(I guess) and the other paw hanging out the window. and he was yelling "ALL ABOARD" and I was telling my faceless friend that this would be funny if it were a dream and he was like yeah it would be because thats just not normal man. And we didn't think anything else of it just got on the train like it was nothing.

I flew over my old school stealing soak-hoses last night to use on the back lawn, then bought an Audi car (why I`d need a car when I can fly I dont know) then got chased by a dog with a tail-propeller..nothing strange there, why *would* I become lucid?!

Damn, your subconcious must not like you. I was having one of those crazy CENSORED XXX dreams. Of course I didn't want to leave it, so no lucidity for me.

Well, you aren't stupid at all.

I mean, if a pink elephant walked in through the door right now, in real life, you'd probably all scream or throw stuff at it, or sell it at the county fair.

But if the pink elephant walked in while you were dreaming, you'd probably just ignore it and continue reading this post.

If you didn't get that, I'll try a different example.

You're awake on your computer, when a pig flies past your face.

If this happened in real life:
You'd do something about it. Scream, faint, make bacon, etc.

If you were dreaming when this happened:
You'd be more likely to accept it as normal.

Lucidity requires skepticism of the real world as well as the one constructed by the brain.

All these inconsistencies, and odd things should make everyone realize that they are in fact dreaming...just check out some of the dreams posted in LUCID EXPERIENCES.
and flying pig...by the way, tastes lovely

Anyone who does will end up smelling.
Knowing this, why do I defy? Because my inner voice is yelling.
