      Dream Recall

Most of the time i wake up remembering nothing at all. But on the way to work ill have a thought, then think ohhhh i drempt this last night. Ill write it down when i get home.

Is that normal? Or should i be recalling dreams and writing them down in the night?

      Haven't LD for a month

I suggest trying to remember them as you wake up, rather than depending on remembering them during the day. Your memory of the dream will be much more vivid if you remember as soon as you awaken, than if you have a fragment come to you later.

Still, a fragment of a dream is better than no dream at all!

Had b6 for two nights. First night had trouble dropping off. Had a normal recall but only one dream.

Second night kept waking up and couldnt drop off. And had no recall ( first time in over a week)

Been taking B6 1hr before bed.

Im getting really discouraged now. Its been a good two months since i've had an LD.

I can recall dreams ok, write them in my diary under my pillow. I even go to bed some nights smiling, convinced this is the night.

But i just dont have an LD.

When I wake up at night, I try to immediately clear my mind and focus on what I might have been dreaming. Sometimes the dream is right there. Other times I've spent 10 to 15 minutes before it came. In those cases, I tend to start reciting a mantra (I use "Om Mani Padme Hum", but any phrase will work) just to keep my mind from getting sidetracked on something else.

Sometimes, the dream recall won't come until I start falling back to sleep. And sometimes, I give it up as hopeless, and then some hours later, it all comes back.

An important thing to realize is that even if you don't immediately think you were dreaming when you wake up, odds are that you were, and if you can just clear and focus your mind, the dream will come back to you.

This just happened to me... I woke up, wrote down the dream I remembered, and then was shaving an hour and a half later and remembered another dream that was actually more vivid and a stronger memory... crazy!

I think the delayed recall of some dreams is one of the weirdest aspects of dreaming precisely because the memory can be so vivid once it comes back, whereas a moment before, you had no inkling of it. It's kind of like -- "was it my memory or not?" How can we have all these experiences, forget them, and then suddenly remember them again. It seems to call into question the whole nature of our self. What if what we thought we remembered was only a small subset of our actual experience? And in that case who are we really?

      Strange how it happens.

I gave up last night, was giving myself a break, went to bed without a single LD thought in my mind and no intent what so ever.

That night i broke my dry spell and had a Lucid lol
