      quick idea. i think it might work.

      alright. well in school for an advanced composition class we have started to do something called a freewrite.

      it's basically where you can write about any topic you want.. but the thing is that you HAVE to keep writing. no breaks, no erasing.. just keep on writing.

      i was wondering what would happen if i tried a short WBTB (maybe about 10 minutes or so of being awake) and doing a freewrite about lucid dreaming in this time. it would certainly keep you awake, while focusing your thoughts and intentions upon lucid dreaming. after 10 minutes, you go back to sleep, full with ideas about dreaming.
      -to recap-
      • go to bed around 10:45 pm
      • wake up around 4:00 am
      • do a lucid dreaming themed freewrite for 10 minutes
      • go back to bed.

      i'm giving this a shot tonight.

      any thoughts would be appreciated.

      Interesting. An alternate to simply thinking about LDing? Yes, I could certainly see that working.

      It is a nice way of focusing on LDing while doing WBTB. For some reason I wake up so sleepy in the night that I never get to the right mindset for any LD tech.

      I'm curious about your experiences! Tell us what happened whe ntrying this in detail

      It's going to be really interesting re-reading what you wrote in that half-awake state. IF you can make out your handwriting

      Yeh, this would be a more involved method of making yourself think about LD'ing. Seems more likely to work, tell us how ya go

      WELL, guys, interesting results. dry spell has ended.

      first off, it worked. amazingly. i followed almost exactly what i said: woke up at 4, and wrote for 8 minutes. for the last 2 minutes i did almost constant reality checks. then i went back to sleep, concentrating only on lucid dreaming and how it felt.

      after i fell asleep, i had 3 DILDs and 2 false awakenings.

      i'm feeling quite hopeful about this method...

      I'll type on my laptop in bed, that way I'll fall asleep immediately, maybe even with my hands on my keyboard. Extreme? nah

      LD Tasks:
      -> Have MILDs at will
      -> Ask my subconcsious mind something deep (i.e. the meaning of life)
      -> Have a fight controlling bullet-time
      -> Call my cell phone and ask the DC who he is

      Enhanced MILD, nice idea. Report back whatever further results you get

      I do that during WBTB, too, sometimes. I write stuff like, "I will reality check as soon as I enter a dream," or, "I will absorb my surroundings, and rub my hands." More like written auto-suggestion than freewrite. It gets great results!

      I hard core freewrite after any vivid/long dream. I love vivid dreams so much, I just keep writing, and don't stop until I finish. I'll make inserts in the margins if I forgot something. <3
