If your serious about mastering lucid dream....

you should develop one pointed concentration...samatha meditation... in tibetan dream yoga this is the foundation of all other techniques... without concentration what can you achieve?... you need for strengthing the intention to have a lucid dream, focusing on the technique you use to become lucid, and staying mindfull of anything you wanna think about...when you master this technique you will be the master of your mind...start by choosing a physical object to focus on...sit up with the back straight.. head tilted slightly forward...then keep the awareness on the object...stay in sensuality of the present moment, dont not let your self be carried away in the past or the future... if you do at least 5 minutes a day everyday... everything will change!!...when you focus stay as still as possible... dont blink.. you know your making progress when strange visual phenomena appear...dont be exciting about this nor distured... as you develop concentration you will attain samadhi!!.. but you cannot skip a day .. if you skip one day... you lost everything!...you have to start all over... use this power to master lucid dreaming!

Agreed that concentration and meditiation are the key tools to LD.. but I don't think that skipping a day has huge effect. But it IS important to stay motivated about it and not give up. Meditation will produce great changes in you over time and your mind will be very resistant to them at first. Do not be tricked by its games to make you stop.

Your mind wants to protect your ego.. its identity and center of control often at all costs. Meditation should definitely expand these but in a way that gives you more control and peace. If you are going to do it.. devote yourself for a while because way too many people give up after a few days after "nothing happened." Stick with it and consider it a matter of life and death. After the initial phase of work, you will come to really look forward to meditating for the rest of your life. But the time to start is NOW.

If you need help staying motivated.. I would consider checking out the lengthy text:
"Book of Secrets" by Osho. Its down to earth and substantial.

      Cool lawlz..

I doubt this works very much, although this does sound rather interseting. Maybe i'll give it a go, how long does it take before you start to see aney progress? 1 maybe 2 weeks ?

Concentration is a great source because it leads you into a much focused mind.

concentration leads to a much focused intention to carrying out a dream goal, meaning your mind will run in a much stable way when focused and eventually get that desired dream. You'll also need a good recall in order to remember what was it you planned to do in a certain dream.

      >Concentration increases Focus

      >A good focus and recall increase chances of having a LD through DILD.

Meditation helps a lot if you know what you're doing....

Is it too much to ask for people to spellcheck around here? At *least* proofread the title of the threads you create.

I'm interested as always in new methods and meditations. Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to check it out. I can already see the connection between samatha meditation and the lotus technique used widely by some people.

Woah i just tryed this sitting at my desk starring at my empty water bottle for 10 minutes straight and i felt like the room was falling forwards. then my right ball(of the eye) started to hurt so i stopped. It felt sweet though. i think i can get used to this everyday.

I should be floating, but I'm weighted by thinking
