If you're finding you become too aware to fall asleep again, try not turning lights on, just relax when you wake up. Also it sounds like you're stressed, we all feel it occasionally, but apparently stress is one of the biggest factors is messing up your LD attempts as well as Dream Recall, try some meditation or something.

I dont turn on the lights. I dont even stay up for more than 10 mins. I get up to the alarm, use the restroom, get a drink of water and go back to bed.

As for stress, your probably right on that one. Not only do i feel like , but i want to take a hummer, and drive it into 50 walls.

I get the same kind of problem. I WBTB, and if I stay up too long, I can't go back to sleep. In fact, if I stay up AT ALL, I pretty much kill my chances for a WILD. I end up counting into infinity with no success and have to fall asleep the normal way.

The closest I ever got was from trying to WILD without a WBTB, where I actually got to sleep paralysis. I never got that far again.

6) Still 100% mentally awake. RC often, still physically awake.
dont RC often. You are supposed to be trying to sleep. and maybe you should try being less mentally awake. bring it down to like 15% or somthing. WILD is just trying to go to sleep. The only difference is that you are conscious.

the only other advice i can give you is to adjust your WBTB time. somtimes 5 hours just doesnt work for some people.

Only wait. How many LDs have you had again? if you havent had any at all, i strongly advise you to try another easier technique. Lucid dreaming is hard to comprehend if you have never had one before. The experience is quite amazing and overwellming. Same with WILD. Its hard to comprehend if you havent had one before. I can only imagine what it must be like trying to WILD without having a lucid dream before.

WILD is like walking a maze. You constantly are getting lost and retracing your steps and trying new paths to get to the end. Trying to WILD without having lucid dreamed, is like trying to walk that maze blindfolded
Total lucid dreams=88

Same with me, Ive gotten the numbness feeling always, But only got to real SP once.

And i cant seem to get to that stage again, I don't know what I am doing wrong. Ill count to infinite like you said, and I will still be awake. The thing is, i dont stay up at all, most of the time I don't even get out of bed, i just snooze the alarm and go back to sleep. Rarely i go to the restroom or get water.

The time it did happen, if anybody is curious, i can explain how i felt and what i did.
This first time I did not use WBTB, but I tried to WILD from first going to bed before getting any sleep. And surprisingly it was the only time that i entered SP. Sooo:

I went to bed at around midnight, and went straight into trying to WILD. I played dead and focused on staying awake.

My fingers became numb, then my hands, then feet/legs, eventually i was pretty much very very numb and "out of it" feeling.

I had trouble keeping my eyes closed, and had to blink every few minutes. I didnt see any HI. Eventually after feeling very numb.. I started seeing purple and colorful abstract .. not pictures, but more like... just.. color. Only in the corner of my eyes. It was like what you see when you black out if you ever ran so much that u almost faint. Your vision blacks out and you see random colors. SOrt of the same thing.

Then I couldnt move what so ever and i felt very very numb. It was as if i was drugged to where movement is impossible. After i counted and concentrated for so long, i was very very bored and decided to see what would happen if i jumped out of bed.

And i did. It felt amazing for about 2 minutes, i wasnt dreaming i did a RC. It felt like i had a very very strong body high.

Then it wore off, and i went back to bed.

THats the story of the ONLY SP i ever got..

Actually ive had 2 lucid dreams before, both DILD. And as for the RC's, i didnt do them too often so that i am distracted and awake. I just bit my tongue every 10 minutes or so, and if that worked or if my mouth was numb, id lift my tongue so that it blocks the air passage and i try to breathe.

Hey fellow Texan,

You should try the MILD method first. Much easier to get results when you're just starting out. Then when you have a few under your belt, WILDing will be easier.

Edit: I see you've had a few DILDs before. In that case I still say work on the MILD method for inducing DILDs. Get it down so that you gain some confidence then proceed to WILD. Most important is being consistant with keeping a dream journal. Look for patterns in your journal and do RCs when those things appear in real life.

It looks like I have the exact same situation as you.

In fact, I think I'm going to go for a MILD as well. WILDs just don't seem to work for me.
