      Yay!

Can I just lul at the person up there?

Anyways, no results from last night either. The melatonin that I took probably suppressed REM for too much because I only remember one very short dream.

I never prayed for things, even as a child. I always thought "if there is a God, he/she should be helping people less fortunate than I." Always, I was referring to third-world countries (I loathed church members who would pray for each other for "financial health." Narrow-minded people.). =(

Pray to yourself. What I mean is, meditate. Pray to yourself, because that's the only living being you can count on.

Yes, you are right. I shouldn't have been so forward, but I am passionate when it comes to Jesus Christ, and when I see things like "I'm gonna pray to the Pokemon god" or whatever, it makes me sad. If anyone on this forum is a fellow believes I would like to know...so PM me !

I think that it's also ridiculous that somebody would pray to a Pokemon God. Pokemon don't exist, so they clearly couldn't be a God.

      That's why I prayed to a banana.

Just stay careful. Don't want this to get locked again! No more! (Ninja, it was only an apology. Don't lock please. )

I tried this method twice after I read this... all it did for me was induce a nightmare. I prayed for a lucid, then had a dream about my dearest grandmother dying. ;~; It frightened me. I might try it again later and see what the results are.

Ninja please lock this... for good... I see this going in a very ugly direction... espeacially since I used to be big on defending my God in R/S many times and some people that argued with me are posting here..

I'm keeping a close eye on it, all references to a specific deity will be removed and if I find myself doing it often or seeing attacks on specific religions then I'll lock it again.

I did the praying thing. I decided I'd post a negative result too, although it's not quite negative. I slept for only 4 hours this night, but still I remembered very vivid dreams. Tonight I'll do it again, wish me luck ^^

      To have a shared dream?

It seems like the major atheist R/Sers aren't doing so well. Maybe we have to be deluded.

Nah more like I promise I will pray for you, then you pray for me. That way we're not being selfish, even though we are.

I SHALL PRAY TO TEH POKEMENZ MUDKIP!

Ok back to reality. I think this is just a placebo. It only worked once for me so far.

I think you're misusing the term "placebo" ... but I know what you mean!

Isn't placebo just something when you think that it's going to do a specific thing..it does it?

Placebo as a noun usually refers to pharmaceuticals, but I don't think it has to. You used it right.

Excuse me? Maybe have a little respect for my saviour, the Pokemon god.

      Thank you.

Yeah you use the term when you're giving someone some drug or something that is actually a sugar pill. I didn't think it was correct to use "placebo" the way that person did because it's all in your head in the first place. Where's the equivalent of the "drug" in that example?

No biggie or anything, not trying to be on definition patrol or something.

Well, I prayed to a banana, so show it respect.

Third time, this time with relatively good sleep, yet still no effects.

      Didn't get me lucid.

OK, I want to throw in my two cents before it gets closed again.

I'm not into religions, but this is actually a good technique that can work. I've been using it for a lot of years. I had a girlfriend who gave me the idea. She told me, that she thought of her dreaming mind as being different from her waking mind, and that she would ask her dreaming mind to give her certain types of dreams, as an incubation technique.

So I started doing the same thing, asking my dreaming mind to bring me a Lucid Dream. And sometimes it works. It doesn't work every time, but it seems to work when I need it the most. If I've been having a bad dry spell, and having a particularly hard time beating it. And if it's been a bad day, and I'm a little down because of it. I'll send out a desperate plea to my subconscious mind, asking it to help me get Lucid.

And under those conditions, it seems to work just about every time.

I personally wouldn't even call it praying, but if I were to pick one of the above... Well I'm keeping that quiet, because of Ninjas request.

I showed you respect by not saying that was ridiculous. You just didn't see it.
