Nervous about DEILD after a lucid dream

I've been wanting to try DEILD, but I have a fear I'd like to clear up first before diving in.

I'm afraid to DEILD after a lucid dream because I'm worried I'm going to fail, have a regular dream, then forget my lucid. This seems a little silly now that I've written it out, and I'm sure 90% of my problem with DEILDing is this negative thinking. But there it is. Has this ever happened to you, or am I just worrying myself away from trying one of the easier LDing methods?

My current solution is to only try to do this after a non-lucid dream, but this is sidestepping the problem instead of fixing it. I'm hoping some of you can allay my fears.

DEILD is normally very fast. Less than a minute, closer to 15-30 seconds. So give yourself a minute, maybe minute and half and if you not in a lucid dream by then, get up and record your original LD.

During the transition, replay your LD in your mind with words. That way it will stay in your memory.

But sometimes you will have to make a decision. Are you happy with your lucid and you get up, or you wanna another and risk forgetting the first one.

Thanks, gab, I'll try out those suggestions. It definitely helps to consider how quickly it should happen.

Even if your DEILD doesn't happen, you still have a chance for a WILD. Get up and record your dream, stay up a few more minutes for WBTB and WILD. Good luck.

Gab is totally right, the chances of losing the memory of you lucid is slim and it is definitely a risk I'm willing to take since DEILD allows me to double my time lucid sometimes.
