I Stumbled Upon Some Make-Yer-Own Binaural Beats!

I started using StumbleUpon the other day and I just found this sweet site:

      http://www.seb.cc/spacializer/

You just place your mouse over the round glowing orbs and it makes some really trippy, relaxing music. It sounds really similar to the binaural beats I've downloaded from various sites.

I'm going to try it tonight! Who's with me?

Sounds like fun. I've heard good reports about it.

But I've always been sceptical (well, I guess more scared than sceptical) of anything I hear. I don't know why, but I always have a faint impression that if it can somehow alter my brain waves, it sort of shouldn't be messed around with unless scientifically tested for its effects on humans.

*cough* This is probably the reason for my fear, lol:

Last week I was writing a ghost story for English extension and I stumbled upon wikipedia and infra sounds, and how they can induce a "haunting or supernatural" feeling.

I then downloaded one those sound files. The paranoia set in while it was on and it seemed to work and it was really interesting. After that though I got a massive migraine headache and felt really sick.

I searched on youtube for comments about an infra sound and one video had heaps complaints from people getting sick, vomiting, and in the worst cases emptying their bowels. The other comments were just from people saying it didn't work (you need high quality headphones). I'm glad I didn't listen to it longer than I did.

So, yeah, I think that's put me off funny sounds for awhile. LOL.

Note: You can't hear infra sounds (but you can still perceive them), so I don't think they would be part of the binaural beats. Thankfully, lol.

I'm down right paranoid when it comes to messing with brain waves via stuff found online but that link is kind of entertaining. I may mess with that some more when I've got the time.

      Lol, same here.

I've been on Wikipedia the past hour reading up on binaural beats - looking at possible side effects and stuff like that.

Everything seems alright about it - the only things I saw that it induced fake or HI sounds that are often found when using WILD and sleep paralysis. But apparently it wears off pretty quickly.

Still, that doesn't mean I've got the nerve to actually try binaural beats, lol.

Whoa...those infra sounds sound creepy - pun intended I guess.

Sound does seem to have an incredible impact on people's moods though. Take scary movies for instance. If I get to scared, I don't cover my eyes - I plug my ears! It makes it way less scary and suspenseful.

I wasn't able to do the beats thing last night though...I have to actually bring my laptop up into my room and play it from there and I forgot.

If anybody does it though, let me know how it turns out!
