      I ALWAYS WILD following SP.

I keep seeing posts with people asking "What do I do during SP? How do I enter a dream?" And I don't understand because when I'm in SP I have two choices: wake up or LD. I couldn't stay in SP if I wanted to or transition into a non-lucid.

So why does this happen to people? Are they not really experiencing SP, or is their experience of it just very different from mine? Is there anyone who has both WILDed successfully from SP and experienced SP from which they were unable to enter a dream? Can someone explain this to me?

I think the answer is simple. People who are stuck in SP are attempting their WILD without the 4-6 hours pre-sleep. So, even though their body is asleep (in SP), they are going to have difficulty incubating dreams until the REM stage comes along in 5th stage sleep.

Really? And ddo you often have LDs as well or just get to SP? Are your LDs vivid? Because the most dreams occur during the REM sleep period, which only begins hours after initial sleep.

Yep. Every time I get SP the natural course is to LD. That is, if I don't do anything I'll LD within a minute or so. And yes, they are vivid, highly conscious lucids. Almost always nightmares.

Although you're theory might be right. I may always enter SP when my body's ready to dream (even if it is at the beginning of the night). Anyone have difficulty getting past SP when doing WBTB?
