      Super itch

Last night in my attempt to have a WILD I had the worst itch I have ever experienced. I knew my body was testing me but I could hold off for so long. It was first on the side of my face and then proceeded to engulf my whole face in an incredible itching sensation. Needless to say I had to itch it.

Anyone else have such an itch? I normally get average itches

      Dude, that sucks!

Whenever I become lucid, I tend to get somewhat excited, this causes my skin to itch (some weird response I don't understand and only happens while i'm asleep). So whenever I'm having to much of a good time in the dream my skin starts to itch and it causes me to wake up.
So i know how you feel. And it's a pain.

I had this too, I thought it was my hair touching my face but I don't think it was. It started small but then turned unbearable just like you describe. Horrible itch >_<

I pretty much always get an itch when I'm trying to WILD, like you said its like my body testing me so I can usually ignore it, but a couple of nights ago I got such a bad itch on one of my fingers I ignored it for a good 5 mins but it was breaking my concentration. Then after 5 mins it started twitching all over the place and just completely snapped my out of it. So frustrating...

I usually just itch the damn thing and start over. Is it better to let it go and stay still?

yea its better if you can ignore it. the key is NOT thinking about it... and it WILL go away( unless you're like me and had a bug bite =[ ). in my mind thats better than starting over, especially if uve been at it for a while.

      Its all a test!
Your body will see if you are really sleeping or faking. It is a tricky bastard.
I found withstanding it works better than itching and starting again, mainly because the first time you scratch alerts the body to "ahh...need to look out at this fellow trying to fool me".
You would probably not feel the itch and manually scratch it if you were actually asleep.

Now that I think about it, I don't believe I've ever had a WILD if I've had an itch. I know that sounds weird, but usually if I WILD, its almost instantaneous after I lay down. Like within a few minutes. Anytime I try and it takes longer than that, I don't seem to have any luck with the WILD.
If I'm awake scratching iches and what not, its usually too late for me anyway.
I need to practice more, haha.

i find WILDs work, but are rare because of the concentration and all the little bits need to work just right.
DILDS in coordination with dream movement are the key I think.

most of the time for me, its actually just uncomfortable-ness that causes me to have to move. not itching... but itches are usually the cause of the uncomfy-ness now that i think about it. hahahaha.... why do we have to itch....

      *rofl* owned!

It happens to me too, but more disturbing are the sounds I start to hear. Last night I heard a mechanical sound that really hurt my ears, but I was just imagening it. I always wake up when this happens.

Let's think about mimicking natural sleep here. When you are falling asleep, do you scratch an itch? Or do you let it fester and deepen? You scratch it, of course! That's why people will often wake up with huge mosquito bites; they scratched them in their sleep!

Comfort is key. Scratch the freakin' itch, already.

I think as long as you don't stress out over the itch, it doesn't matter if you either scratch it or leave it be. Just notice it as an itch and proceed into your dream. For me, I usually ignore any itches, they go away rather fast. But some nights, those little flies get into my room and bite me, causing some ridiculous itches. Those sneaky bastards can fit through the bent areas of my screen in the window. When I have the light on in my room, there can be as many as 30 of them crawling around on the ceiling around it, just waiting for me to go to sleep so they can eat me alive. I tried to squish them all one time, but there are too many, and they're too small. I hate bug bites.
