Yoga Nidra is a type of yoga in which the user falls into what is described as a deep sleep with awareness. There are several tutorials online and most of them include MP3s in which you listen to careful instructions to reach this deep sleep. Also during each practice you create a goal which you implant in your subconscious. So this is very similar to hypnosis. It is very easy to do and I had success on my first try. Usually the practice takes from 20-40 minutes, but it can be done in less or more time depending on how deep. After about 10-15 minutes of this I usually see hypnogogic imagery also. |
