What stage am I experiencing, relaxation or body sleep?

First of all I should ask if its possible to go into a LD from WILDing first thing at night?

Because so far whenever I have attempted to WILD it was always been when im first going to sleep. Anyways so im lying there in bed with my eyes closed. Im either listening to some of the audio aids on this forum or im counting my breath of something like that. I get to the point where I can feel my body go through "layers" of relaxation. Its like my eyelides have more and more weight put on them, keeping them shut. And my body starts to feel kinda numb, like im not able to decipher what position it is in or what my extremites are lying on, im not sure if its just getting more relaxed or if it is moving towards paralysis?

In the end I either focus on it too much, think that im moving towards SP and get excited and my heart rate gets jacked way up which leads to me opening my eyes (which takes ALOT of effort, so my body probrably was on the verge of falling asleep if it wasnt already)

In conclusion, is this what is talked about when you are "relaxing" or was my body falling asleep?

Also, should I do the same thing but after I have already woken up in a REM cycle? (im assuming the answer is yes but I usually am trying different methods or just giving up at those points )

Sounds like you're on your way there but haven't quite reached it yet. Either way your main problem is the self-control. That focus and that excitement are both counter productive. You just have to learn to ignore those feelings and get back to relaxing. I know its difficult, but you can do it.

And yes it is possible to WILD at the beginning of the night, though from what I've been told its more difficult and the results aren't as rewarding (less vivid and shorter dreams).

And maybe not as much tough as long.. . But thats it ... To let the feelings go, you have to experience them enough times to be oversaturated with them.
