      Best technique for a beginner?

What would be the best lucid dream technique for a beginner like me? I've never had a lucid dream so I would like to know.

And who are you? . Tell something more about yourself, about your sleep, about your concentration, about your memmory. Did you have some sleep experiences before.........

The more we know, the more people will respond you accurately. But before i know anything else, I would suggest, recall, recall, recall....

I also have this same question but i think I'm pretty sold on practicing the WILD technique.

I am a heavy sleeper, i have obtained i think lucidity before meaning i have been able to do small things like move my arm while dreaming and consciously knowing i was dreaming, I sometimes have a problem falling asleep at first but when i do fall asleep i wont wake up unless i have a weird dream.

I hope that info helps because i am also quite curious on the best method

The best is dream rehearsal. You construct a dream sequence like for example everytime you walk past a door you do a check and 'pretend' that it tells you you are dreaming and you do the thing you planned. If it's flying then you run to the window and it stops there but it has to be done with intent. You don't have to keep doing the thing, just when you feel the urge to do or until you are familiar with it like you already know exactly what to do and expect. Then before you sleep do one more and run it in your head until you fall sleep. It's actually VILD but in physical form which I think helps if you are not good at visualization.

I have a fairly easy one that scored about 3 LD's for me this morning.
What you do is set your alarm clock so that you wake up 4.5 hrs into your sleep
Make sure it's on silent mode so it only vibrates against your body (a ring tone will distract you to much). After waking up from the alarm i turn my phone of and take a bathroom break to minimize distractions. Go back in bed and lay there just thinking about whatever. You can do this with eyes open. After a while your eyes start to close by them selves. Then you can keep them shut without trouble. Stay still and SP should kick in not long from now, when it does visualize some thing familiar. I visualize my school doors because i've been there for 7 years. It might seem like nothing will happen at first but it will turn 3D shortly. Focus on the image and it you should fall into the dream in no time.

You can always tweak this technique into your liking.
      Maybe by taking some chocolate.
Or you can set your alarm to your preferred time as long as its during or right before REM.
      See this chart: http://sleepzine.com/wp-content/uplo.../rem-graph.gif

I cannot honestly say "Yeah, this is the best method for you" without lying. Everybody is different. I would reccommend the reality check technique, its the most natural IMO, and easiest.

Well yeah, it is the best method for me.
Bye the way inducing lucidity through a reality check is also very effective but quite often those type of dreams only last a couple of minutes or seconds.
So i guess if you just want to have a lucid dream to see what it's like then go for that. But if your wiling to score big WILD,WBTB or VILD is your best bet.
Don't get me wrong You can have long LD's by reality checks but you might struggle since your a new comer.

I have never done any other technique other than being a natural, and reality checks. But I have the craziest, longest, funnest, LD's. I have LOTS of LD's so many its pretty much boring now. I can stay in them as long as I want, too. I was having lots of fun in an LD I remember(flying around, using my powers to shoot flames at people, etc ), and I didnt feel like leaving it, so I stayed in it the entire night until it was time to get up. I think, its just in your experience that reality check LDs are like that. Its not that this technique is any worse, its just it doesnt work for you. Everybody is different, and different things work for different people. RCs didnt work so well for you, but theres nothing that says the next guy wont be the most badass LDer because of it.

Sorry for arguing about it, I just didnt want to confuse any newbies. They might have gotten the impression that theres a "best technique" or something. There isnt, its what works for you.

In all the time I've spent reading and practicing the MILD technique has helped me out the best. Basically telling yourself that you are going to remember your dreams, or that you will wake up after every dream, or that you will become lucid in your next dream etc.. etc.. If you say it enough it will happen... My testament to this is that I haven't practiced lucid dreaming in the past 2-3 months and had virtually 0 dream recall during that time. 4 days ago I started back up and told myself a few simple statements when going to sleep and in the past 4 days I've remembered a minimum of 4 dreams each night, 2 very close Wild's (hit SP) and 1 LD. Ontop of that my body has woken up after every single dream I've had (many of which I've failed to write down) and on one night it woke me up before my alarm clock which was set for 5 hours after bed. So in my 4+ years and countless lucids later Mild'ing has help me the most looking back on it.

I'd say to try a DEILD. It seems easy for beginners. No staying awake waiting for SP...just staying still until another dream comes.

Yeah. Well as you can see, no best technique, and everybody has thier own that works for them. So my advice: pick wichever one you want, use it, and figure out what works for you.

If you are really committed to becoming lucid fast, you should attack it from every angle.

First thing to do, is be sure to keep your dream journal. Strive for nothing less than perfect recall. Every dream recorded!

During the day, do tons of RCs, and try to stay aware. Before you fall asleep at night, give yourself some autosuggestion/ MILD type affirmations. Wake up after 4-5 hours to do a Wake Back to Bed. When you go back to sleep, use a WILD method of your choice.

If you do this every day, you will definitely become lucid.
