Cannot seem to wild, what am I doing wrong?

Since I've registered, I figured I could post here and see if anybody can give me some pointers on what I'm doing wrong exactly. Let me give a little backround first, since hearing about LDing, it seemed that WILD was THE way to go, since it seemed to be more controllable than DILD. At first, I was SUPER excited about the concept of LDing, and tried hard for like a week to have one, but I was inexperienced and couldn't calm down whenever I tried due to excitement, and we all know excitement is the last thing you want trying to LD, so I had no success.

At the end of the week when I first began trying, I kind of gave up and forgot about LDing. Bumping up to speed now, a couple of months later (3 or 4), I got back into LDing, and really into it, I've kept DJ's, tried WILDing almost every night I wake up, and without fail, I can't seem to have a WILD.

I'll be laying there, perfectly calm, nice slow breathing, and I'll feel like I'm becoming really heavy, but after that, nothing! I could sit there for 20 minutes and not feel anything at all, there have been 2 or 3 occasions when I'll start getting vibrations, and once very early in where I think I had a WILD, but that is it. Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I've read every guide, followed all manners of advice, and nothing seems to be working

If anybody can give me an idea of what I'm doing wrong so I can WILD, I'd be in your debt! Thank you.

Edit; the only thing I can think of that I'm doing wrong is that I'm waking up to try at the wrong times. I'll go to bed anywhere from 10:00 to 11:00, and wake up anywhere from 3:30 to 5:00 every night, when I wake up, half the time I'll try and WILD, half the time I won't. When I do try, perhaps I am just too darned sleepy? Should I splash my face with water to wake up completely, or will that harm my chances?

im terrible at WILD as well but my few experiences i have gotten the best results from getting up in the middle of the night, leaving all lights off, and go pee...yes with the light off lol, just aim by sound or sense of smell, or just pee on the floor and get it in the morning. either way i have just tried to stay as tired as possible while still getting myself out of bed.

      daredevil? bat?

WILDs take time and patience, don't give up and keep trying.

You know what, i think that you're too impatient...

I don't want to offence nor sound like a know-it-all , but i think you should be more relaxed, not thinking about anything, you don't need to control your breath or anything, you just lay there and let you drift into sleep kindly. You don't need to be exited and trying again and again and focalizing on this.

Just let yourself be, lay there, imagine imaginary worlds, imagine the place you want to be in in your LD and with time you hopefully will be able to do it.

Maybe doing creative things could also develop your creativity and make your LD's even better.

But that's my way of doing things, i never search for answers, analyze the problem, search for details , i just look at the big picture and do it.

20 minutes is not good enough. I cant WILD during the night or the beginning of the mornings. Try doing it in the afternoon. Take slow deep breaths and dont get frustrated if you dont feel anything within 20 minutes, it will hinder you and cause you to fail. Patience is virtue, try laying there for 2 hours then tell me you dont feel anything, Also make sure you are not moving your eyes, even if the eyelids are closed. Relax them and try to get them to a point where they dont move, period. Your body will take it as a sign that your mind is asleep and shut down

I thought WILDing is ideal for when you wake up in the night, or is that WBTB (I don't really understand the difference very well ) Also, I didn't realize you shouldn't move your eyes even when they were closed, thanks

Any other advice is likewise appreciated.

WILD's are best done after roughly 5 or 6 hours of sleep. So if you go to bed at 12 you should try wilding at 5-7am (depending on when you actually fall asleep). This is because of the Serotonin and Melatonin chemical in your brain. At nighttime you have the most Melatonin stored up and Barely any Serotonin stored up. In the morning its the other way around. Melotonin is the chemical that helps you go to sleep and serotonin is the chemical that helps you stay aware. Im pretty sure that your melotonin is dropped by 50 percent halfway throughout the night while your serotinin is increased. This calls for a balance of sorts which is why its best to WILD within 5 to 6 hours of sleep.

You want to wake up during REM sleep for WILD's to work best, but I always find it extremely difficult to do right after I wake up (my mind is always aware and the only thing I find different when waking up in the morning is its harder for my body to fall asleep again), so I have better luck in the afternoons (around 1-5 as I'm taking a nap). And yes, your eyes are the biggest indicators of wether your mind is asleep or not for your body. Keeping them extremely still and relaxed will tell the body your mind is asleep and it will start shutting down.

I don't have much experience but maybe I can clarify some things as well as help you out.

WILD means any time that you go straight into a lucid dream from being awake.

The way I see it, when you wake up there are two best methods to use in order to WILD from there. They are WBTB and DEILD.

WBTB is when you physically get up and walk about as much as to your bathroom and back, then lay down and attempt to WILd (with imagery, etc.)

I would reccomend DEILD as your best bet, however. In DEILD, as soon as you wake up, don't move a muscle. Resist any urges to scratch an itch or anything like that. And simply focus on how tired you are and how soft the
pillow feels, and simply let yourself slip right back into a dream-state, but while this is happening, mantain the fact that you are dreaming.

You will immediately enter straight into a lucid dream.

Try the DEILD. You should have great success.

Remember to try the WBTB if the DEILD fails.

      Hope that helps!

EDIT: If you try the WBTB, do NOT splash your face with water. You definately don't want to wake yourself up too much, as this will make a WILD way more difficult than if you are still a bit sleepy.

Alright what's your take on reverse blinking?

I sure hope so, I followed the advice last night and I definitely felt something. Like very minor tingling, but my eyes kept moving periodically and ruining it. I definitely am feeling some progress
