I don't have much experience but maybe I can clarify some things as well as help you out.

WILD means any time that you go straight into a lucid dream from being awake.

The way I see it, when you wake up there are two best methods to use in order to WILD from there. They are WBTB and DEILD.

WBTB is when you physically get up and walk about as much as to your bathroom and back, then lay down and attempt to WILd (with imagery, etc.)

I would reccomend DEILD as your best bet, however. In DEILD, as soon as you wake up, don't move a muscle. Resist any urges to scratch an itch or anything like that. And simply focus on how tired you are and how soft the
pillow feels, and simply let yourself slip right back into a dream-state, but while this is happening, mantain the fact that you are dreaming.

You will immediately enter straight into a lucid dream.

Try the DEILD. You should have great success.

Remember to try the WBTB if the DEILD fails.

      Hope that helps!

EDIT: If you try the WBTB, do NOT splash your face with water. You definately don't want to wake yourself up too much, as this will make a WILD way more difficult than if you are still a bit sleepy.
