      My unintentional WILD attempts (advice?)

Here's my current WILD story. It's longer than it should be.

On Monday August 4th I set out with my brothers on a camping trip to visit my uncle in Wisconsin and also go see Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. On Thursday the 7th I slept on his sofa-bed, and the next morning I unknowingly stumbled into a WILD attempt.

I don't know the circumstances, but I was somehow tired enough and whatnot to try WILD. I sat there for a while, and eventually my legs and arms were numb-ified. A while more and there were vibrations. I'm going to leave out some details because the next sub-story is more interesting. Ok, eventually I see a Simpsons-style scene, and wonder if I'm dreaming yet. The answer is no, because I could still move my hand. I think that snowballed into me waking up. END.

OK! Now back to present. The morning of August 21 (the morning of this writing), I was having a dream. I forget how I got there, but my job was to go back in time in a time machine no bigger than a locker. I climbed in and flipped the switch. It was really shakey! Ok, this is where it gets peculiar.

I don't know how it happened, but that was somehow the vibrations of falling into sleep paralysis! I woke up. I noted that I still felt like I was shoved in a locker, because my arms and legs were numb. It was a powerful illusion.

Anyways, I capitalized on my easy-WILD situation. I fall back into vibrations again. I even got to the point where I heard loud booming noises. I think they startled me for a bit, but I was like "it's ok those are just WILD sounds". I must not be phyched out very much by knowing I'm WILDing. Maybe(?) that's my anchor.

There is a point in the process, I'm not sure where, where I'm startled. It is perhaps just as vibrations start, when my brain says "what the hell is this" and backs away from the vibrations for a bit. I think I have to somehow get my brain used to the feeling of vibrations. Anyways, I pass the barrier somehow. I also think there is a barrier when the noises start. But there is apparently one barrier I did not manage to cross.

I've read that sometimes in WILD breathing seems hard. I think this happened to me. I also felt apparent stress on my heart. I think I had the idea that these were just illusions, and to concentrate on just the feeling of breath on my nostrils, and not the breathing itself. However it happened, something around that time caused me to fall out of it, and I woke up eventually.

That is quite a tale. Anyone have any advice? Here's some points I would like advice about, but other WILD advice is still highly appreciated.

How to replicate the feeling of being able to WILD. Does it require an alarm clock? When should I set it to wake me up, relative to my bedtime/awake time?
How long from the sounds to LD?
When you do get to dreamstate, is it extremely apparent that the world is now complete? This would mean that I should not wonder, because I'll know when it does happen.

Ok, that seems about it! I seem to be terrible at DILD (none so far), but 2 WILD attempts opportunities? Without even trying? I think we may have a winner!

It's a song. Anyways, I guess it accurately describes my feelings about my thread here. Although I'm not emo. Hm.

ok i can tell you the answer to that question but u probably already know what im gonna say. yes the answer that everyone loves to hate. e v e r y b o d y i s d i f f e r e n t. I myself can tell YOU that from expierence the pre-cursors to sp don't necessarily happen in any certain order. you might have pulses and twitches one night without the numbess, and the next night vice-versa. sometimes for me the auditory hallucinations happen before anything else which really freaks me out sometimes when i lye in bed and out of nowhere hear a loud screeching noise, or someone shouting my name and i have my earplugs in. ok enough of that. when you enter the dreamscape, youre usually aware from the go. the hard part is getting out of the paralysis state and into your dreamscape. its not a feat of physical strength, its all will power. it can be very frustating when u have a succesful wild and arent able to move out of your body and into the dream when it starts so watch out for that.

OK thanks! that info is actually helpful. If ever I do get into actual sleep paralysis, I know that willpower is needed to get into a dream. Although if I am stuck in SP, no biggie for me. That'll be a milestone in itself. I'm armed with the knowledge that SP is totally harmless, so hopefully that will be to my advantage.

Not another guy who has experienced the vibes! In 15 years of dreaming, never once have I had those vibrations people keep talking about. Makes me feel like I'm missing out.

I find when I attempt to WILD, either I enter into the dream right away, or I hit a Hypnagogic Imagery stage first. If I hit the HI stage, I need to create a dream body for it to become a dream.

My biggest problem with WILDing is that in the earliest stages of the dream, things are unstable and foggy. My lucid attention actually stops things from forming properly, and the dream doesn't stabilize properly. Quite often while WILDing, I have ignore my lucid attention, and give in to my regular dreaming self until things become more stable. The problem with that is that I often forget to go back to lucidity. But if I don't let go, things fall apart and I wake up!

      WILDing is tricky.
