hm... i never thought about it. My brother moved out a while ago and I moved into his bedroom. His bed is more comfortable and I've actually been having more lucid dreams lately, but I don't know if it has anything to do with the bed. there are a lot of other things that could be affecting it.

its a verry thick bed with some really nice padding, tempurpedic foam, and some insnae spring count...got a great deal on it.

In fact its the bed that they have at the sheraton. Its the most amazing bed ever.
me too! I never lucid dream on that bed. But I love it.

Air mattress, here. Had 2 WILDs and 2 other dreams last night. Sunday nights are always strange, for some reason.

      my bed

      8.5/10

Mattress is not very soft but I have good head and body pillows. Thus far the two times I have had LDs I've woken up with the body pillow lying opposite the head one..... kinda weird

I have a big and wide bed that is very comfortable (8/10). I don't think it affects my LD-attempts though. At least not negatively.

I used to sleep on a traditional Korean/Japanese style futon. It was practically like sleeping on the floor. I had lucid dreams frequently while sleeping on it. I am glad to have a thick futon mattress now though and my lucid dreaming frequency is about the same.

ps- I just signed up for this forum. Nice to read so many great posts!

My bed isn't all that comfortable (it's actually just a mattress on the ground), but even when I had a fairly comfortable mattress prior to this one, I don't believe I slept all that much better. I rarely am able to sleep with few awakenings through the night, and often find myself waking up at least 10 times, sometimes rising up to 30-50. As you can imagine, I don't get great sleep, and sometimes am unable to sleep contiguously at all.

I find, however, that if I am able to fall asleep while on my back, I tend to remain asleep longer and have more vivid, lucid dreams. However, I find it difficult to resist turning over prior to falling asleep on my back.

Actually, an excessively comfortable bed seems to make lucid dreams less likely for me.
Slight discomfort (not too much) keeps me from being too deeply asleep and improves my chances of dreams & LDs
Of course, that's not the most healthy thing though

Unless otherwise stated, views expressed in this post are not necessarily representative of the official Dream Views stance. Hell, it's probably not even representative of me.

My bed at home is amazingly comfortable. It's a mattress and then like 6 inches of pillow material on top. Needless to say I sleep like a baby, but it didn't keep me from having multiple lucids a week for a while over the summer. My bed at school is hard and uncomfortable, and I can still get about 1 lucid every 1-2 weeks, but at the same time I'm not getting nearly enough sleep. So I don't think the bed makes TOO big of a difference, except that you may sleep more on a more comfortable bed, and if you have more time to sleep, you are more likely to get dreams, and the opportunity for lucidity rises.

I personally would move this to attaining lucidity, but I don't have power in Sleep and Dreams. Can someone else get it?
