Question I Realize I'm Lucid After I Wake Up

Whenever I sleep, there's a good chance that I'll be able to remember a dream. Whenever I try and go lucid, I will ALWAYS remember my dreams. but the problem is, I dont know that I'm dreaming until I wake up...

Upon which, I get mad because I wasted another opportunity to become a bird, committ mass murders, and have sex with supermodels. lol.

      but seriously, any tips?

LOL. I really can't tell if you are joking or not.

Er, how long have you been trying? I suggest taking a look in our tutorial section to get an idea of what technique to use.

Time to go back to basics. These aren't even lucid dreams you're talking about... it's not a lucid dream unless you realize it's a dream while you're dreaming...

Ya, the answer was so insanely obvious I didn't want to be this first to point it out in case this guy was kidding or something.

No that's not what he's saying. I know what he's talking about.

For instance, usually I wake up after my dreams. If I don't though, I will wake up in the morning and once I open my eyes, it's as if I JUST got out of the dream. I know that's not the case, but that's what it feels like. I wake up with the memory of being aware that I am inside the dream. I can almost play videos of my old dreams in my head in the morning if I remember being aware inside the dream.

The problem he's talking about, we don't actually think of being in the dream at the time. We are aware in the dream, just never stop and think that we could take control. I've even been able to make decisions in dreams that I wasn't controlling completely. I never stop in a dream to question reality. EVER. That's what we want to know, how can we teach ourselves to question reality in a dream? I mostly always am aware I'm in a dream, but the only LD's I've had were all 4 DILD. 3/4 weren't even intentional.

The last few nights I have been dreaming and right near the end of the dream I realize that I'm dreaming.

I haven't quite been able to figure out if I realize this right before the dream ends, or right after it ends. If I am actually realizing this in the dream then it means I'm close...

I suppose it could be a false awakening but I keep forgetting to check and I never remember about DEILD (or whatever it's called) until it's too late
