      TV as an anchor

Recently, i've been looking into anchors and i have tried most of them (pain, tv and breathing etc...) however i hear when you lose concentration you go further into sleep and i get this. However i will focus, then lose concentration and then focus again, and i do feel i am closer to sleep... however when i lose concentration again i just fall asleep any tips to get past this?

TV is no good as any sort of sleep aid. The ramblings of shows are not white noise, and the light patterns will arouse brain actvity regardless of any conscious efforts to prevent it.

I suggest trying more natural means, with less variables. The easiest one would be to change your sleep position. Switch sides, you know? This has a moderate effect on awareness, and might be just what the WILD doctor ordered.

Another method is to WBTB for a longer period of time. This will heighten brain activity, and will make you more aware as you fall back asleep. As long as you WBTB for no more than an hour (usually around 20 minutes), no ill will come to your night's sleep.

One last note: stay consistent. Persistence is key here. Mess around if you must, but mess with simple variables (sleep position and length of WBTB), not complex, unpredictable ones (television, pain). Try one method for at least a week.

Television worked quite well for me. In seconds I almost lapsed into unconsciousness.

So in a way, it helps you get to sleep, but it prevents WILD. D:

      No TV!

They've actually done studies and found that you have more brain activity while sleeping than you do while watching TV. If that doesn't motivate you to read the newspaper instead and "kill" your TV, I don't know what will... you have more brain activity while asleep than while awake... hopefully you can think enough right now to find the power button LOL
