      Going to bed thoughts

I am trying to remember the exact point where I slip into the sleep state from the waking state. Is it possible to try and stay conscious until you fall asleep?

Yes it is extremely difficult to do if you attemp it as soon as you go to bed. Best to do it after a few hours of sleep, maybe 4 or 5 or more.

Tibetan monks can apparently remain concious during the whole sleep process, from going to sleep and night, and getting up in the morning.

I have been trying every night now, I make myself believe with conviction that I will remember or realize I am falling asleep, its strange really because I can never recall the moments before falling asleep which I am sure is mostly the case. I will get back if I do manage this! I am off to bed...."I will remember falling asleep....I will remember falling asleep"

      WILD, in a nutshell

      1) Your body falls asleep.
      2) You experience body tingling
      3) You experience Hypnagogic Imagery
      4) Hypnagogic Imagery gradually becomes more vivid.
      5) Hypnagogic Imagery turns into a dream.

Yes. You will notice the hypnagogics suddenly change from the black or further into it the colours behind the eyelids, to a different shade of background.
This is your dream eyes clicking in. Sometimes it is subtle, but I saw it last night. It has more clarity and starts to turn the hypnagogics to fragmented picture formation.
I went passed the colorful lights and back to black behind the eyelids, and on entering the dream eyes into a deep grey clearer canvas and a wave of euphoria. Like coming out of fog into the clear night sky.
This is a good indication of when and where your pictures will start to piece together.

Not everyone experiences HH- tactile or visual So, tingling and imagery are excessive to the WILD in a nutshell I would say it's more along the lines of

      1) You stay conscious
      2) Your body falls asleep
      3) You are in a lucid dream
Kinda hard to get more simple than that lol

How long is it supposed to take? I'm laying for almost an hour and half, and while I'm getting some numbness and tingling, that's about it!

It all depends on the person. It usually takes about half an hour for me to start to get anything.

Iank that sounds like you are at least getting some good hypnagogic hallucinations, keep it up! It depends on the person... I won't hesitate to say that practice will reduce the time. Also experience. Usually I get HH (early on in the sleep cycle of course) and I get so excited I wake myself up

In fact, i can however stay up awake all night long and stay aware, i can do this all the time. I haven't done it yet of course however. I never thought about doing it all night long, id just want to do it just to be able to lucid dream everynight.

However most the time i just goto sleep without trying. But i've even be able to remain conscious all the way up to lucid dreaming very easily using jeff's tutorial. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=42271

I literally can lay there blank my mind, keep my body still and go into SP pretty damn easy now.

I normally however lose patience after my body falls asleep. So i never make it to the lucid dreaming part. Or i just gotta go pee so bad that i can't take it no more haha.

However this morning... I stayed up all night and i laid down this morning, and i thought to myself, i gotta get to work in a few hours , so im not going to let my mind rest completly. So i kept my mind awake. I started getting Images right away soon as i close my eyes.

I start getting "Lucid Dream Images" Where a dream starts to form, all the sudden you see a whole new place. But i still know i'm in my bed room.

I tried to use this method someone wrote about trying to grab onto something in the dream.

That doesn't work at all for me... I gotta try not to do that again.

Anyways... I just wanted to say all of that cause i'm bored
