A handy rememinder to do a RC

Basically, this so far has worked for me to up my RCs a day at least 5 times as much!

You know those garbage-bag twist-ties? Wrap one around each index finger (just wrap at least one around an important finger, the more the better right?) and essentially every time you notice it, it should be a reminder to yourself to perform a RC wherever you are.

In my opinion, it works better than a piece of string since string tends to be either: so tight it's constrictive and annoying, or too loose that you never notice it!

These twist ties are comfortable enough to not be annoying, yet obtrusive and in your way enough to remind you!

While I was at school today, I was doing a RC every 5 minutes, which works out to be 12 an hour. So for my 3 hour school day, that was about 36 checks... probably a bit less, but you get the idea!

So, is this a good idea, or no?

I think its a good idea.
When ever you notice the twist tie just question your surrondings and try to become as aware of where you are and what your doing as you can.

The true test will be if it causes you to question your reality in a dream.. thereby making you lucid.

if you end up doing it so much that you end up not needing to rely on seeing the string, then its perfect

Indeed! But I don't like to think of it as a string... maybe like string-reminder 2.0!

Ah well, just have to wait and see.

This sounds like a good idea as long as you remember to state check when you do a reality check. Just blowing off an RC is gonna cause you to blow it off in the dream. Just remember to REALLY question your state when you do it.

Remember, Pause now to ask yourself the following question: "Am I dreaming or awake, right now?" Be serious, really try to answer the question to the best of your ability and be ready to justify your answer.

great point shift If it just becomes a habit you lose the level of awareness you originally had.

Wouldn't it only come handy if you were in a dream, which would mean in your dream you would have to rely on your subconscious to put a twisty on your finger?

Not trying to poke holes or anything, I'm new and trying to get a grasp on as much info as I can so I can understand more on how our brains work
