will these conditions make me lucid dream?

-if i take reality checks throughout the day
-listen to this cd thing that just says "The next time im dreaming, i will realize im dreaming, am i dreaming now?". the cd thing is suposed to help you lucid dream.
-if im reallly bad at remembering dreams can i still lucid dream?
-taking melatonin, ive heard that helps.

not exactly sure but i might have started too go lucid last night, but i got awoken right when it started

      - It may or may not work. The CD Thing is hit and miss with different people. For some it works, others it doesn't. One key factor, is how well outside stimulus effects your dream. For instance, if someone turns on a light in your room while your asleep, will it figure into the dream somehow. Your ability to suggestitivity has to be taken into account.

      - You can have the Lucid Dream, but your odds of remembering it are really bad.

      - I haven't had any experience with melatonin, so I can't help you there unfortunately.

Instead of using a CD, it's more effective to repeat that sentence yourself when falling asleep and to mean it. It's the difference between suggestion (ineffective) and intention (effective). Plus I would extend it a little: "The next time I'm dreaming, I'll realize I'm dreaming and do a reality check. Am I dreaming now?" Without that I'm having dreams where I dream that I know that I'm dreaming, but I'm not lucid. Doing a RC is a relatively safe way to become lucid though. For the "Am I dreaming now?" I don't see much reason, but I haven't tried it yet.

bad recall doesnt really affect your ability to lucid dream, but when you wake up it will be like it never happened. e.g. you know those nights when you dont have a dream, well you did actualy you just didnt remember it, same hapens for LDs

First of all, no one can say you will have an LD. You may be more likely to, but nothing will guarantee that you do.

      1) Will help.
      2) It could be phrased better; if you're going to listen to the Cd in your sleep, you want it to be present tense, not future tense.
      3) Yes, but building recall with a dream journal will help greatly.
      4) Melatonin has never helped me at all, and many people feel the same. I have not encountered many people who have had success with melatonin supplements.

You can also try the following.

      1. Set an alarm to wake you up 3-6hours after you goto sleep.
      2. When you wake up, write down any dreams you remember.
      3. Do some reality checks and actually question if your dreaming(be serious about it)
      4. Go back to sleep thinking of how you will become lucid in a dream
      5. Repeat a phrase like, "I'm going to sleep now, when I am dreaming I will realize its just a dream."
