Simplicity while awake = more LDs?

Here's my theory. If you have more simplicity while awake, it's easier to become lucid. It also creates less stress and your mind is clearer. You know, get rid of things you don't need anymore, especially papers, we all have too many of them. Get rid of relationships you don't need anymore. Keep your schedule simple, only buy what you need. And make your sleep schedule/time simpler - no forcing yourself to sleep, which creates nightmares right away - at least it does with me.

I've noticed that the more stuff I get rid of - the easier my schedule is, the more I can concentrate. Even the less noise, music, conversations, etc I listen to, the more I can hear my own voice of intuition. Which we all know, those who are good at meditation, are better LDs and vice versa. Mental clutter so to speak.

Also, if you read my blueprint post/thread, if you keep your real room, for example "spotless" at least on the floor, it's easier to note when a large piece of furniture is in the wrong spot, meaning you're dreaming. However, if your room is always messy, how will you know when your in your "dream room" if it's different, chaotic, messy anyways?

      Do you get my point?

Making my life simpler would be too complicated. I wish I could do it though.

How can simplifying your life be too complicated? At least make neat piles of messy things Or meditate, deep breathe to slow it down. You'd be suprized what you think you need but really don't need. For example, I used to get lots of newsletters which had to do with my career, which gave me tips on things, and what not. I realized that I didn't remember 1/2 of what I read, and I had all the info I needed in books, but didn't read them. And they took up my time online looking at emails I didn't need. Look at things and see if you really need 5 of ____ or if you can get by with 2 of ____ .

Oh, and TV is the ultimate killer of your mind (you have more brain activity while asleep than watching TV!!) and your time. Read the newspaper instead and go online for the whether and other news.

That to me insn’t really simplifying my life. I would really like to just lead a simple, relaxed life without computers, iPods, mobile phones, appointments and TV. In which I could be content with what I have, instead of running around needing to learn everything and chasing after 50 different interests simultaneously, always looking for elusive fulfilment. But how would I ever arrange that? It’s too complicated. And besides, even though I know it would probably make me happier, it’s hard to give up all this superfluous technology when it ostensibly makes our lives easier.

It doesn't mean u have to give it all up. Just give yourself a time limit on the computer, and tell yourself what websites you will Only go to. On the phone, don't make long conversations, try to tell the person you only have a few minutes to talk. We all need our phones and computers, but just make boundaries for yourself.

Seems to me like you just don't want to change.

this reminds me of an old story: in essence a man was carrying a giant rock around him everywhere he went. People asked him why he did that- he was obviously exhausted from it. his reply: "It's the only thing I have". People tried to convince him to put it down but he wouldn't believe them. Only once he was too frail to carry it did he put it down and have his burden lifted.

While I agree, I don't think I can simplify my life anymore, lol, its already at its simplest and I gotta say it feels great. I agree with the OP

Bit of a strange story, but it's basically the point I was trying to make.

I get your point but if I end up in my own room in a lucid dream (which rarely happens) then its an off night.
