Is there an easier way to attain lucidity?

It's been a year now, and I can't really keep up with the techniques, I've been
sick and tired. And I've been giving up. I have DJ full of past dreams, but that's
the best I can do. I've been doing DILD for over a year now and it's not
      helping.

Is there a simple way to do this?

Easiest way is to take a vit B complex pill after 6 hours of sleep. This works with your current way of lucid awareness during the day because the pill if successfull will link your waking memory from the day into the dream and you get lucid as a result of remembering it's not the same as you remembered reality. Another way is to use a light or audio cue that is set to go off after a certain time like an hour after it's switched on and will keep going off at small intervals of like a few minutes..it's bound to hit REM and this also works with lucid awareness but based on the light or audio cue.

You could try a Finger Induced Lucid Dream, all you have to do is wake up in the middle of the night and move your fingers.

      Also, think about WILD'ing.

If your into the whole audio thing look on the research forum at the method I created; ANILD. It takes a little work but it's fun.

I personally recommend WBTB and WILD (All this is coming from a non lucid'er keep in mind) Well good luck may we both get lucids.

I don't count these as true lucids because they where not very clear, but until I have my first real lucid these will do.)

Super easy way - WBTB. Go sleep at midnight and woke up at 5. The only and the hardest part is to actually wake up. It's easy after that. Give yourself 30 minutes, few reality checks and go back to sleep. Have a great chance of LD.

Goodnight - gettin back to bed now.

Why not just say the affirmation:
"I am Lucid in my dreams."
A few of the most simplest techniques have the requirement of this affirmation or something along the lines.

You forgot to mention one thing though. If you're the type of person that has a hard time falling asleep, WBTB is a very difficult procedure to do. Also, I find waking up using an alarm clock very easy compared to going back to sleep. I tried going a WBTB this morning, but, I stayed up too long and wasn't able to get back to sleep

Yeah, this has been the easiest way - almost the only way - for me to LD. Though, like it's been mentioned, it can be really hard going back to sleep. For me it's b/c ppl are starting to get up in my house around the time I'm going back to bed.

yeah i probably wouldnt recommend the redbull idea but the for me, the easiest way was to pick out 4 different signs to do a reality check for each day. i think stickman has a forum on it.

its really suppose to be for MILD but it definetly helped me in DILD. the idea is to remember to do these reality checks, and if you do good with that, you'll remember to do them in your dreams.

it's difficult for most ppl to keep up and remember but i take a psychological break every week or two for a couple of days. but this has been so helpful for me, i had 8 luciddreams last month compared to like 3.

i dont think there's a real easy way to lucid dream unless your a natural. but practice and practice and it will become easy later.

oh and have a goal to like what do you wanna do next time you become lucid.

      yeah!

I find the easiest way to induce an LD for me is in midday naps. This might not be possible for all people(high school students, people with full time jobs), but it works well for the college slacker.

Everyone wishes there was a real easy way to do it, me included!
If you can somehow keep up the motivation then I'm sure you'll get there, even by accident. Remember, there are also people here that have been trying for over a year and haven't yet managed it. I'm not much better off after having only 2 short ones in about 7 months, but once you've had a taste of just one then you're bound to want to continue

In terms of easiest methods to use, then I'd suggest Autosuggestion first for a week of two where you just put the idea of lucid dreaming in your head by saying " I really look forward to having my first lucid dream maybe this week or next". Now the thing with this is that it's not a definite "Intention" to have one, just a suggested thought pattern to give to your brain the actual idea that you'd like an LD, rather than the MILD technique where you very much intend to have one that very night by repeating a phrase that you'll recognise that you're dreaming over and over until you fall asleep.

You can still do your favourite RC's throughout the day at regular times when you see or hear something strange or failing that, ask "Am I dreaming?" every time you open doors in a building or enter another room etc.

And how's this for the ultimate motivation though, I read about a woman from Norway that claimed to be able to have 1500 LD's a year geez! that's some figure eh? And what was her secret I hear you ask? Apparently she just did a Critical State test similar to the "Am I dreaming?" one, but this time she just asked herself "How did I get here?" several times a day and proceeded to trace her steps back throughout her mind of what she did and where she was during the day until it became clear to her conscious/unconscious mind which state of mind she was in.

I would love to try the above example to see if that works but at the moment I am trying a few techniques and want to track my progress with as few as possible going on at the same time.

i probably wouldn't recommend that to this guy. autosuggestion is an easy way to lose motivation because if you don't reach your goal, it's like "*sigh* this is hard *sigh* i can't do this" and start giving up. i don't use it. but like you said, if used, don't make it a definet intention or you will be disappointed.

the other stuff you suggested Elkfazer i would recommend. for me, I like to do reality checks at specific times like when I see a red car or next time I turn on the radio and switch it up everyday. The point of that is to remember to do these tasks during the day, and in return, you'll remember to do reality checks at night. This method has worked best for me and last month, I had 8 DILDs.

The "how did I get here" question I believe it's reliable however I haven't tried it yet.

      yeah!

What I do is somthing like what nerte said.I just go to sleep as normal and sleep for about 4hr and then get up. And stay up for as long as i can maybe 4 or 5 hr you know when you start to feel like shit. Cause your body want's that 4 more hour of sleep.Yeah thats when i go back to bed and i get lucid 98% of the time or a really vivid dream. Infact im trying it right now i only slept for 3hr today gonna see if anything happen to night. But it somthing I would just try at least once a week.
