Thumbs down i have very very very little to work with

because my dreams are so realistic!!
i mean it's one thing to be vivid, but it's another thing to have your mind work against your intentions of realising you're dreaming
too much detail for me to even question the reality of anything. i just automatically assume it's real so that when i do my RCs they don't work!!

my dreams are always up-to-date with whatever's happening in my life and very VERY plausible
      NOTHING SUPERNATURAL, NOTHING FUN
nothing is even remotely strange in my dreamworld

today after waking up, as i remembered more and more of my dream, i realised how crazily detailed it was!! i could write the best damn book ever written in the waking world with such amazingly organised plotlines

maybe i observe the real world so much that it carries through in my dream?
i don't know but it's just getting annoying now

to date i have made ZERO progress since i started so i dont' know what to do now

Do you have a dream journal? If not, I suggest starting one. This will keep your mind on dreaming and sometimes allow you to become lucid for no reason at all. Also, if you are having alot of problems with DILD, I suggest practicing and learning to WILD. I suggest Jeff's technique found here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=42271 . Good Luck!

thanks your highness for the suggestion haha
although i tried that technnique with no avail already
i'm very undisciplined in not moving my body

yeah i have a dream journal which i've recently started
i just want to be able to tell dreams from reality and it's seemingly impossible because i don't have any dragons chasing me or anything exciting like that

my dreams are just very ordinary but i realise they're very telling of my observations of everything
they're detailed right down to the minutest things
plus the dream i had last night
well there was writing in it which didn't even blur -- it was fully legible and i still have the mental picture in my mind of looking at it and reading it

i think my mind is rejecting my whole intention of trying to become lucid

Yeah, I know what you mean. My dreams are, too, often very sensible. Last night, for instance, I had a dream where I was walking out of a Payless with my good friend. I was holding a sack and a pack of cigarettes. This seems just insanely bizarre as it could NEVER happen....EVER [/sarcasm].

I just really look at the subtitles like for instance, 1. I don't smoke. And 2. I remember the pack of cigarettes was called "Old English 800" which when I awoke, made me laugh.

no yours actually makes sense, fattox

i'm not just talking about lack of supernaturality

i'm talking about the environment and everything. it's my house exactly, same tiles, same statue in the corner etc
or it's my school exactly, same layout and colours, same plants, same rooms, same room names, same everything!!
the restrooms are over there, the labs are over there, the stairs are over there,
my teachers wearing the usual clothes
all the people i see i have seen before or i recognise
i myself am exactly the same
like an imitation of real life
its impossible to tell the difference

      everything is just too legit

      ha.

if this is the case, then it should give you a reason to do even MORE reality checks during your waking life.
If your dreams are so real, how do you know you're not dreaming right now?
      Constantly question your reality.

Also: Fail-Proof reality check: Reading text/numbers.
Your brain doesn't keep that info in memory while sleeping. Try it out. Make sure you read it, glance away, and read it again at least 3 times.

Routine RCs are the trick. It doesn't matter how realistic your dreams are, if you RC frequently and randomly, you'll eventually do one in a dream.

walking nomad - my RCs fail i.e. they fail to show me that i'm dreaming - which i think is because i believe they won't work because i beleive my dreams are real

dtc - i do constantly question reality - when i'm conscious
thanks for the text number thing
but you know, in my dreams i can read text perfectly clearly - i can imagine some text from last night's dream which i read clearly
so yeah i should probably look and then look back

mini - thanks i do think i should do more reality checks in real life

i have the same problem. lately my dreams have been very realistic so I dont RC. I started a dream journal now so that I can tell what things happen most frequently in my dreams and thus when I should RC to those things in real life. Im hopin it works
