Hello. I have come up with a way to remember to perform reality checks.

Now, technically, this isn't new at all, as I am sure that it has been mentioned before.

On the other hand, I have heard many people saying they can't remember to do RC's, and thus I present my own take on this classic excercise.

Here's the deal: Keep track of your RC's.

Step One: Keep a log

It takes 21 days of consistency to create a habit. So, simply create a 21 day log on a piece of paper and keep track of all the RC's you perform every day. At the end of the day, write the date on the left side of the paper, under yesterday's entry, and write how many RC's you have performed that day.

The sheer will to perform reality checks will help keep your RC count up. Before attempting this, I performed less than 2 RC's per day. Yesterday, I did 24!

Step Two: Set a goal

Goal setting has been proven to help progress with many tasks. It was even mentioned in Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, by Stephen LaBerge.

My goal for the first 21 days is 5 daily. After I have accomplished this, I will shoot for ten. You can choose whatever you want, it's all up to you.

Step Three: Pay attention to the little things.

In a dream, even the craziest things can seem completely normal at the time. In order to become lucid, we have to RC because of the smallest detail in real life. For example, I was driving home yesterday and spotted a sign labeled "Shoe City". This was, in fact, a shoe store. But on the other hand, in a dream you could see a sign that says "Welcome to Shoe City". This, to most dreamers, would seem completely normal in a dream. If you developed the mind frame neccesary for this technique, this seemingly insignifigant detail would not go unnoticed.

Well, that's just about it. Thank you for your time. If you have any questions, comments or criticisms, feel free to post them here.

Lucid dreams!
