I woke up, but didn't move my eyelids or limbs, or anything.
I waited a long time (probably five minutes or so), but didn't feel any form of SP or see any HI. I finally made the choice to get up and do RCs to try and see if this was a false awakening, but I was not dreaming. Any explanation as to why I failed this? It was a perfect opportunity to DEILD and chain a second lucid dream on, but... =(
Congrats on your lucid! I too had trouble with flying when I first started LDing, took me a few weeks to be able to do it properly. Whenever I prepare to DEILD, I try to stop moving and get ready as early as possible. As soon as my dream begins to fade, I stop moving within my dream and try to stay calm and relaxed. If you are tense, it can hurt your chances. Keep your mind relaxed as well and try to just "drift" into the next dream. A couple of times I have failed a DEILD attempt for seemingly no reason. I'm not sure if it had to do with my REM cycle ending or if it was something I did, but I suggest to keep trying it. In my experience, DEILDs don't fail often and are a great way to extend your LDs. Good Luck to you!
