      Was this Sleep Paralysis?

Well, I ended up waking up naturally in the wee hours of the morning, and I just remember falling into a half-sleep state of being on an island. Someone told me to recognize what it feels like to go to sleep, to try to paralyze myself.

So I just did something in the dream while lying down and soon I felt very strong, almost painfully strong vibrations all over my body. Then it was in sections, starting with my feet/legs, and going up to my head. Then instantly after I saw white with black symbols of some sort of foreign language just float around in the whiteness. I remember trying to move my fingers to see if I was actually paralyzed and it felt like there was a hard shell around my body.

I then remember waking up, freaked out, but questioning whether or not it was sleep paralysis or just a very very vivid dream depicting it.

Yeah that sounds a whole lot like sleep paralysis. Strong vibrations and the stiff feeling.
Tho I'm not sure. Only been doing this for a short while.
I've read about people with SP ( sleep paralysis) that could
not move at-all! I feel the vibrations, the "heavy blanket" on my
chest and short dreams start to form. They only last a few seconds. And I'll
end back up beeing in my mind. But during this all I can move. It's just
all really stiff. The shell around me is an good explination.
So that's what my experiance is with SP. But I might be wrong.
Like I sayd I'm also kinda new with this.
When I get the vribrations and they stop (hang on a lil longer and they will stop)
I try to let my thoughts wonder around without losing awareness.
But I loos it during these mini dreams ang gain it again when I'm back in my mind.
Hope someone corrects me if I'm wrong

Yes, that was SP. If you can hang through that, and still stay aware, you should soon enter into a lucid dream.

Yep, that sounds like sleep paralysis, to me. Try to see if you can repeat the experience.

Oh wow, really? I was skeptical, considering it was induced from inside a dream to begin with. The problem is -- I didn't do anything, it just happened, so it really isn't repeatable. Now I know what I want to achieve though, thanks guys!

That is a little strange that it was first induced from within a dream--whatever works, though! The vibrational state is common and typically people get really startled/freaked out when it first happens (I know I did). The more you experience it, the less startled you'll get.
