      Light box induced lucid dream

So I was thinking of trying a new way to become lucid. I'm going to make a box that glows a red symbol and attach it to the ceiling above my bed. I'm hoping that it will show up in my dreams and make me lucid. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried something like this, and knows how well it will work. Thanks.

I had that idea but it's a LED dot matrix panel that is quite huge...Unfortunately it is costly and needs programming via software so I never had it... From experience of using 'things' to transfer to dreams it's not that easy. What would happen is that you may get a dream that has nothing to do with your intended symbol but has to do with lights. What I understand is that the subconcious uses a coding format based on Abstracta & Concreta concepts. Like if you used the lighted box with the symbol which is the Concreta or concrete form of the Abstracta or the abstract idea of light or the colour red or red light. The Abstracta could range from anything that was based on the Concreta you used and then converted into something else..another Concreta in the dream.

Sounds a lot like the those expensive goggles people buy. If you can get the setup to work properly, I think it'll be great. Tell us how it works out for you!

I've heard of this being used but only as a sleep mask.
