      First Lucid Dream

I have been trying to lucid dream for a couple months now and last night I finally had one. I became lucid once when a girl was shooting herself and others in the chest with a nail gun. I then came lucid again when my friends dog was singing a song about him being the only talking dog. And I became lucid a third time when I was about to write the dream in my dream journal and noticed it was filled with jiberish and music notes. I was able to stay dreaming for at least two hours and I was lucid most of the time. I was almost starting to lose hope. The thing that troubles me is that I didn't really have any control over my dream. I had fun destroying everything in my garage but when I was trying to use my powers to launch objects it didn't work. I tried to fly for a while but I was only able to jump extreamly high. I also tried the thing where you expect someone to be at the door and they weren't there.

Any one have any tips on controlling the dream.

Congrats! A Nail gun toting babe and a singing dog! Cool!

As for control, practice and belief are all you need.

Practice control everytime you are lucid and believe that you can do it. Sometimes it helps to pretend you are a Jedi. A little hand waving goes a long way!

There's a post about different dream-flying techniques: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6268 It hasn't been updated recently but there are a lot of good possible techniques. As for control in general, Seeker is right in that you really just ahve to believe that you can do what you want. Once you know you're in a dream, eliminate all doubt of things you can't do and see what happens
