      Well, I'm not sure of one technique that works consistently for me, but I have had success with the Wake Back To Bed technique WBTB which is very popular among other Lucid Dreamers. However this technique in my experience isn't really suitable for someone who needs to get up for work or Uni the next day.

      I'm working on the Finger Induced Lucid Dreaming technique at the moment, I've made two attempts two nights in a row. The first night was unsuccessful, and although the second night was also unsuccessful I did have some profound dreams where I actually become Lucid in a dream I was having inside my actual Dream! I'll be continuing to practice this technique to see if I can actually achieve full Lucidity with it.

      Something I've noticed is that in most of my Lucid dreams it's been my hands which have made me realize I'm dreaming. If you look at your hands in a dream it's like a switch to activate lucidity in your dream as a lot of the time they don't look right. It's an almost instant realization in my experience. So my advice? Start doing lots of reality checks, I look at my hands a lot so that if I have a false awakening (which often happens) I'll look at them whether I think I'm dreaming or not.

      A WBTB with reality checks and a lot of reading/thinking about lucid dreaming to help induce a DILD was always what worked best for me. The only WILD induction technique I ever had any luck with was FILD...and only once. All other WILDs have been the result of spontaneously, by virtue of just being very tired, falling asleep and going into REM almost right away. I've also had a few DILDs resulting from WILD attempts, where I "fell asleep" in a nonlucid dream and had a lucid dream. They usually ended in a nonlucid false awakening. I call those faux-WILDs.

      No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.

      Try VILD when you go to bed at night.

      I just tried it last night - Got relaxed, and then just started imagining I was washing my car. It was reallly easy to visualise.

      It wasn't vivid like a dream, but it was just really easy to do.


      Then in wake up like 5 hours after you go to bed and get the Lucid timer.swf going on preset #4.

      Now just fall asleep and let the timer do the work. To give you a boost you could do some more visualising while you're falling asleep. This helps alot.

      Maybe learn a small yoga routine and visualise yourself doing it as you drift off.

      That sounds like the answer I've been looking for! The part about washing your car. When ever I try and visualize things before bed, I try to invent some beautiful forest that I've never been to and its hard to continue the image resulting in another failed attempt. But now thinking about it, if i visualize something simple that I've done 100+ times it would be easy to become lucid in that scene and then just use the "spinning" technique to create the forest I want to go to. Why didn't I think of that sooner! Thank you!

      Well, I'll give it a go tonight and see how it works out. I'll keep you guys posted if I have any success with it.

      no one thing consistenly for me
      naiya says that you have to do MILD for a while, weeks to months... so i am doing that. it's good to know that you don't have to have results every time in order to be building a great base.
      apparently once you build a MILD base you can LD a lot!
      and i do LD some... but i'd love to get to where I LD every night.
      meanwhile i try this and that...

      WBTB has always worked pretty well for me. Otherwise, though, I'm still experimenting with different things. I think it's different for every person.
