Entering SP when you're in the middle of swallowing?

This is just a 'what if it happened' sort of thread. You know how when you swallow, your throat closes for an instant? What if you happen to hit SP when you're right in the middle of doing that?

I tried WILDing last night and kept having to swallow, so the question popped into my head.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

You'd finish swallowing and be in SP if you didn't focus on the swallowing too much. Keep in mind that when you're asleep you can still breathe - that's because sleep paralysis doesn't affect your muscles involved with breathing, only those that would make you move around if you were in a dream and weren't paralyzed.

Give it a shot - you won't suffocate.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

But aren't the muscles in your throat that are used for swallowing in the same place that air enters your throat, meaning that if they closed.....

I would think you would finish it, your body would not kill its self.

Tricky question, but I believe that once your body enters in SP, you don't control swallowing movements anymore

However, in the improbable situation where you swallow exactly in the same moment your body enters in SP, I think that the worst thing that can happen is your mind delaying for a few moments the SP. But that's all, no big deal, I bet.
