LD now? Like anytime soon? Please?

I have yet to experience the pleasures of lucid dreaming and it's quite annoying.
So much research on how, what and why.
So many times I've woken up and hit my head against wall for failing to see the obvious signs of my surroundings being a dream. I mean it's so blatantly obvious sometimes, I really don't get what the problem is. Kinda make me feel stupid.
I go to bed with the intention of having a lucid dream. Every single night. With the exception of those night where I just go to bed telling myself to have a lucid dream "...you know, when eeever you're ready", which is still intending to have one I guess.

I've tried so many methods of inducing them, that I can't remember which ones I haven't used yet.
I've tried forcing it into my head with mantras containing some harsh language and threats.
I've tried negotiating with my self-concious.
I've tried meditating to focus my intent and even tried to connect with some astral beings (probably a long shot) to ask them nicely to come into my dream, slap me in the face and tell me I'm dreaming.

Since I came here, I've developed excelent dream recal, I keep a journal, I do my fair share of reality checks, I've recenly got a digital watch that beeps every hour, I've found out a great deal about my sleeping patterns and REM cycles. I understand my dreams allot better, I've have a couple very nice dreams which thanks to my dream recal, I can remember in vivid detail.
I'm also aware of the recurring dream signs, though they are fairly weak, so I'm not sure if they help much. For example, my surrounding being dark, either in sepia, or black and white or tint of red.

Either I'm a very tough nut to crack, or I'm just unable to get lucid.

Took me 8 months but now im practically a natural, there is light at the end of the rainbow

      "Meditation, Raspberry Juice, Dream Recall"

      Its what Indi-Doc prescribes.

      Dream Recall Hero.

Stop forceing it and let it flow, the more flow the more lucid, its what i was told and it really helps.

Remember, its only in the name of science!
And I would go with hard nut to crack? It took me 8 years to induce 1 LD, so there lol (No, it rarely ever takes that long)

If your raspberry juice is like the one in the above pic, then you have nothing to worry about, haha.

Same here. Most infuriating is that the closest I came to being lucid happened almost randomly.

      Just keep at it.

      Three years.
The most annoying part is a few weeks ago, I was doing a reality check in a dream, and just realizing I was dreaming, when my sister woke me up violently!
I hate when she does that, especially that day!

Stop trying to lucid dream and you will, take the path of no action my friends.

No thanks, It didn't work my wise friend.

hey RealShift...when you try to Lucid Dream....are you stressed? is your method stressing? have you tried doing it slowly, calm, like billybob's thread "stress-free method for LD" ?
Is what I'm doing, it's been 1 month, and I'm having results, not LD yet, but I'm having close experiences.

Being a natural (though weak, would have LD's once or twice a year, when not doing anything about it) i really can't tell you what you should do. I have the impression it's some sort of treshhold you need to cross. I also think that going "OMFG! I can't LD Waahhaarggg *U MAD*" doesn't help. Just keep on writing in your dreamjournal i guess. It will happen, but i wouldn't be suprised if it would took some people 5 years before they have their first LD.

What happens to me in the past is that i suddenly realised i was dreaming. Lately i have been paying more attention to dreamsigns, and that works pretty good. The feeling is quite odd though when i become lucid. I realize i am dreaming, and then i have to "push" mentally to get consious. It feels like climbing out of a swimmingpool on an emotional level. It's not hard though. Lightswitches work pretty good for me as a dreamsign. They always tip me off. Though a few nights back i had a dream where it DID work. Mhhhhhh. That was a dream following on two short and one long LD, so i already scored heavy that night so no biggie.

I also think your brain needs to be set up for it. Like some people being good in sports and the likes. I already had a good memory for dreams, and can remember a lot of them, and envision landscapes from them quite easily. I sometimes even have trouble remembering if stuff is real or from a dream. Judging from my experience i would say good dream recall is the key to succes. The trouble with using techniques is that you expect them to work, and get cruncky when they don't. Maybe it's better to just work on dream recall, and don't try any techniques at all, and just let it happen when it happens. The path of no action might be the right path. If you know how it feels (Trust me, you'll notice) working on techniques might spicen it up to a good level. Just don't force it.

now Im in my second month of lucid dreaming and I'm averaging 1 a month. I have tried lucid dreaming before but never stuck with it this is my longest attempt. What you need to do is be more aware in waking life. You dont need to RC but just be aware of all the sights sounds and smells around you. Be aware of what your bodys feeling what it's tasting. Pay attention to your surroundings it helps a lot.

The only two I got, were when after I gave up... However, that might sound a bit biased. It was more likely the only two I got were after I heard about LDing.

The whole point of not trying is letting the subconscious have a turn rather then using your conscious to force an event.
