Try telling yourself you will have a lucid dream tonight(this is called autosuggestion) |

During the day, I feel like I can do a lot of preparation and I do the customary reality checks during the day, but can I do more? I try to reduce the number of RC's I do to when I genuinely think that I'm dreaming so that I don't become inured to it; but what about mantras? Should I be repeating a mantra during the day to assist with DILDs? What do you guys do during the day in preparation for the night? |

Once more into the breach dear friends, once more! And fear not its darkness, for it is only a figment of my imagination!

When you perform RCs during the day, take a few moments to look around at your environment. Truly question yourslef and ask, "Am I dreaming right now?" followed by, "How do I know 100% that I'm not dreaming?" Don't just perform a RC and let that be the end of it. If you truly question reality during waking life, you will truly question reality during the dream state. |

Thanks for the advice, I recently changed over and am doing this. I had my first LD 2 days ago and another one last night. That said, is it normal to have very little control during the first few LD's? |

Oh yeah. Control takes practice and experience. You will gradually be able to control more and more with each successful lucid. Congrats on your success thus far! Good luck in your future efforts as well! |
