(Things To Not Do When Controlling Dreams)

Okay, I have been working on LDing for about 4 months and i am gradually becoming better, the thing that I have a problem with is when I am in a LD I just kind of fade away from lucidity with out klnowing it, what I wanted to know from someone,(preferably someone experienced), was things not to do when beginning to control the dream, like things that you had to learn to work around until you became more experienced. I have oversome a few of my challenges like, stop fearing SP, having and LD, stabilizing partially, feeling my dream body, but this is the only thing that I am having trouble with at the moment. Any help would be most appreciated.

      Thx, Dextro.

to me once you are in a lucid dream there is no diffrence in trohwing a stone away or moving a galaxy with telekenesys. with that i mean as long as you think you can you can. i realy wish i could say wat i want to say right now but it wil be betther for me to just shutup and let someone who can answer your question answer it.

      Expectation is difficult sometimes.

Work on your imagination during the day, imagine yourself flying but think of ALL the feelings - wind, gravity, air pressure, etc.

I usually do something so ridiculous there's no way i forget it's a dream. Also control many things, even small ones that don't matter. If you're constantly controlling then you never forget.

Agreed. There aren't any things you "should" or "shouldn't" do as long as you know you can do it.

The only thing that's stopping you from dream control is your mind. In other words, as long as you expect it to happen, it will.

do reality checks along the dream, even if you know its a dream, it helps alot not to lose lucidity.

Good point, but most people think a galaxy is more difficult to telekenially move than a stone, even in an ld unless that person has extremely high clarity of thought. However once you understand in an ld that a rock is the same as a galaxy, you can literally move mountains!

I really think it is easier to explore a dream when you assume you are in a real state with exaggerated physics.
That takes out all the "am I dreaming tests" and the things the brain does to trick you to distract you, forgetting awareness etc..
Unfortunately, this adds, the crap, none of it was real, when the thing is finally over.
      Or was it?

Just really think about it. Think about what you'd have to do to make your imagination do what you want. And I don't mean think while you're dreaming, I mean think abot it right now, imagine, visualize. Get yourself pumped up, and build your confidence. That's my advice

Okay, one question. When people say to expect, or play out in your mind what you want, do they mean just imagine it? Like the way that you would just imagine flying or something in waking reality?

It's more of "make the connection that the laws of physics DONT MATTER HERE!"

It takes good visualization skills. Two good and can-be annoying tests I do during the day.

      1. Imagine yourself flying - feel the wind and the release of gravity
      2. Imagine a stick figure walking up stick-stairs. Does he EVER reach the top?

I've found that the only things I can't do while lucid involve being curious if I can feel my real body while I'm asleep, 'cause it'll pull you out of your dream. As for things done within the lucid that pertain to the lucid, there aren't really any specific things to avoid doing - practice doing whatever you usually do, and you'll get better at staying inside a lucid.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

      Cool well..

      Hey,
      Honestly, I agree with Kahiko...
      There's nothing you can't do...
      That's the beauty of it...haha
All you gotta do is imagine, imagine the specifics, stabilize it and it'll be as real as you want it to be...
      Good Luck,
      Sam

What I usually do is run my hands or spin often. This way the dream is more stable and I am constantly reminding myself that this is a dream
