Can I make this an advantage?

I'm left-handed and I need (I get angry otherwise) music. I rarely dance to it, but rather have this odd thing I do, and I can't just stop doing it. Whenever I'm listening to music, I have a strong imagination ever since years and years ago, maybe since like 5 or 6 years old (16 years old now). I go to school listening to music using my Zune HD, then in homeroom (before lunch, 15 minutes long) I play a game called Audiosurf Tilt that goes according to the beat of song. I continue playing the game after I’m done with eating lunch. On the way home, I listen to music. Whenever I come home, I listen to music but I stand next to my bed and rub my hands (not together, but the thumb against my other 4 fingers and sometimes just the index finger and other times the thumb between the four fingers, I do it to both hands) and somehow it increases the intensity but I have to do that, I also make sounds in my mouth. I do it for imagination, it makes it so much stronger and I will act people out many times too.

They do this sort of in Avatar, and I started to wonder if it is done in meditation and if that meditation would help me lucid dream. I want to use it for advantage. It is a bad habit right now, if something excites me, like something I read in ETWOLD, I have to stand up and do that, it somehow fuels me. Like I’m doing it right now, though this time, I rub my four fingers on the palm of my hand and will sometimes make a clap sound. It is an odd habit but I really want to use it for advantage because many times I really don’t know I’m doing it but the outcome is great as it fuels me more than anything does.

I’ve done similar things when I was younger, but it is a bad habit and my mom doesn’t understand it, I told her once but she doesn’t know really. If some meditation does it though, I could do it really good because I do it without thinking; it’s an automatic function for me. It intensifies my imagination and the character’s acts.

Well, most anything could be used as an advantage toward gaining and holding lucidity, granted that anything can become or already is a habit.

Do you have to be so vague? I'm saying that maybe I could use that rubbing hands habit thing as some meditation that sort of is like that. They do that in Avatar when attempting to transfer Grace and when they transfer Jake. Like if it is a meditation I could find out about that would help me relax then that would also help me in lucid dreaming. Just what meditation is similar to that? And please no vague answers, that's annoying.

Alright, if you don't like posts that are intended to guide you to think for yourself, I'll put this post in a simple and clear wording:

I do not study meditation nor meditation techniques, so I couldn't tell you if it's a real meditation method. My understanding of meditation is similar to the approach taken to learn the WILD method of lucid dream induction: you have to find what works for you. If rubbing your hands relaxes you and clears your mind, you've found yourself a meditation method. If you would like to use it for lucid dreaming, then you've already gotten ahead with it as it's already a habit of yours. To use it for lucid dream induction, it would likely stand as a reality check (if you're looking for direct implementation), in which case you'd have to expect to find yourself doing this habit within a dream, and recognizing that you're in a dream because of it. Other than to try it as a RC or a dream sign (or combo, I suppose), I don't know what to tell you to help get you to be lucid using this as an aid.

But, good luck all the same.

Moved to Attaining Lucidity, this doesn't really belong in the Help Forum.

I do something slightly familiar. I rub my hands and raise my arms and kind of blink really quickly and I have these more or less controllable fantasies and I act out stuff form movies and TV shows in my head and make sounds out loud. I think it's a bad habit though and I've been trying to stop because it's very odd if someone sees and I'm scared it'll become compulsive (I've been doing it for years)
The burden of proof lies with the one making the claim

You basically have the same thing.

There has to be some sort of advantage to it. It makes whatever I'm acting out more intense. So I'm sure a meditation suits it - it would help intensify a meditation, but which one, and which one would help with lucid dreaming in particular the most?
