Wasted an hour and a half trying to wild. WTF?

Okay, so I was sitting here, two hours after I woke up. I decided I wanted to try and WILD!
Well, it didn't work. I tried Yoshi's WILD technique, but failed miserably.

Before I rolled over to my side, I though I was in SP, but nothing happened that was really related to it (vibrations, noises, HI), so I rolled over. Then after roughly five minutes I get a wave of heaviness all over me, and a loud noise (similar to a jet passing by) was booming in my ears. I was happy to feel/hear this, but then when I was about to go into my dream, it stopped. Can excitement kill the WILD process?(If so, that's probably what happened.)
After that failed, I remember seeing something about not giving up if you fail the first time, so I rolled back over to my back and tried it again. Then I get a heavier feeling and I see stuff. At first, I saw a big toe moving around, then I saw a ship out in the distance of a dock.

I was stuck here, I didn't know what to do, so I waited...and nothing. Everything went away and I just got up to post this.

I am in serious need of help.

One thing I'm going to say: You never waste time when you're attempting a WILD. Every time you try, you learn something new. Embrace it, don't scoff at it.

Yes, excitement can pose a problem for some folks attempting lucid dreams, both during the process of induction as well as during the actual dream.

Sounds to me at the end there was that magical spot you're aiming for! When you're seeing things like that, they can develop into a full dream scene. That's where the magic of WILD happens - those dream scenes will eventually pull you in when they're developed enough. Just try again, and when you get there, keep passively involved with those dream scenes and hallucinations, and you'll be closer to a WILD than you've been before.

You're not actually stuck, so give it a go! Good luck!

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

You should be happy that you got that far in!
I've tried WILDing about 10 times now and I haven't even been able to hit the vibrations stage or anything.
Just keep trying and i'm sure you will get there.
