      Having problem doing DEILD/CAN-WILD ?

Well i set my alarm to wake me up 5 and a half hours after i fall asleep but then i end up waking up at the normal time i do, unable to recall waking up at all earlier? What do you think i'm doing wrong? The alarm isn't waking me up enough? Or that i just woke up and didn't remember it?

Well, what kind of alarm are you using?
If it is an auto-shut off alarm, which it should be (since you are trying DEILD/Can-WILD), then you are probably not waking up. I made myself an mp3 file that has a 3 seconds long sound at 4:00:00, 4:30:00, 5:00:00 and 5:30:00, so theoretically it should wake me up 4 times in one night, however it's a miracle if it manages to wake me up once.

In the other hand, if it is an alarm you have to shut off manually (like most cell pones'), you are probably turning it off in your sleep.
It happened to me with my WBTB alarm, I would set it in my cell phone (it's the kind of alarm that won't stop sounding unless you hit snooze, or end) and after 3 nights using it it stopped waking me up, I would turn it off while being about, I say 95% asleep.
For solving the 2nd situation, I started putting my cellphone inside a sock, and often found myself with my hand inside the sock when the alarm woke me up.

Well atm, im using a loud 3 second sound with an edited 1 minute of silence following it so that it only does it once; so in that case i probably just carried on sleeping?

Most likely did, maybe you could put it a little bit louder, or put another alarm half an hour before, which you have to turn off yourself, that way you will be more aware?

Hmm, that sounds like a pretty good idea, il try it tonight and let you know Also my alarm doesnt go any louder , so do you think repeating the noise another 2 times would help?

Repeating the noise right after the first one should also help, the longer the noise, the more likely you are to wake up. Try different things, and see what works better for you
