Every night before I go to bed I attempt a WILD. I lay there and the following stages happen:
1) Body begins to get uncomfortable and I want to roll over - I ignore it.
2) Body begins to itch and I want to scratch - I ignore it.
3) I begin to feel light headed, and time seems to skip roughly 5 minutes at a time, as if I fall asleep for a short while and then awaken (you know how fast time goes by when sleeping). At the same time I feel vibrations.
4) I either fall asleep or wake up and have to start over.
Last night, for example, I did this for what seemed like 5 minutes, however when I got out of bed and looked at my clock it had been over 30. I have read about meditation books and how you get into an alpha-like state if you just lie there and become peaceful in your mind. It feels as if I could go into a dream, but because I am not in REM sleep it doesn't seem to work.
I have yet to try a WILD for a nap or after several hours of sleep, but I will give it a shot. If I can last this long doing it before going to bed perhaps I can lucid dream on my first few tries.
Also, is it possible to have an OBE or Astral Projection while not in REM? If I can manage this state while first going to bed, can I project myself and have fun with it before falling asleep?
