      DEILD- staying aware

whenever i try to DEILD i either wake up and stay perfectly still but am so groggy and close to sleep that i cant hold on to my consciousness and just drift back to sleep or wake up too much and am not able to immediately remember my last dream and as a result my half asleep mind keeps itself awake trying to remember just what it was i was dreaming about last. >_> in other words: FAILURE.
Its all about awareness! too much and i cant DEILD and too little and i cant either! this seems impossible. even if i succeed in not waking up too much then how do i wake up enough to remember to stay aware!? contradictionnnnn. Part of the problem is that even if i succeed and enter a dream the dreamscape is my ROOM. D:

Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.
I think it's in my basement... let me go upstairs and check.

Think about a place or setting you want to be

      OR

Repeat in your head "I am dreaming"

Hold on, after a lucid you should be aware enough and not move if you want too because, well in a lucid you were already aware. Unless your attempting this from a normal dream, which is much harder and needs more practice than after a lucid for exactly those reasons. Your groggy after a normal dream because your awareness hasn't spiked up yet, but in a lucid it's going full blast, so when you awake from a lucid you should know that you want to attempt a DEILD
