Unhappy I could really use some advice

I have been trying to LD since last may, when I found this site. I have kept a DJ for this entire time. It started out promising, when I had a dream sign the first night. Now, I barely remember much of my dreams, and dont really remember them that often. I have never even had an LD, but I refuse to give up. Maybe if I list everything I do, I can get some advice to get me back in the loop and to help me actually have an LD.
      WHAT I DO:
•I use mantras before I sleep
      •I keep a DJ
•I try to clear my thoughts before I sleep
•when I wake up I try to recall my dreams(unfortunatly I am usually foiled by my blaring alarm clock)
•I downloaded an mp3 off of this site, but do not listen to it consistently before bed

there. I hope that helped so that I can get a better plan of action. I really need to increase
Vividness and Recall. I am convinced the lucidity will follow. I used to do RCs, but I didnt feel like they helped a ton. If someone suggests them, then I will recommence them. Thank you in advance

Ok what your doing sounds good. For recalling dreams when your alarm goes off take a few seconds before moving to get the dream locked into your head. Shut your alarm off and write it down quikly. Write down anything you remeber. And I mean anything. Even if you had a half second log memory of a dream you might have had write it. Then your recall should go up. Also if you take drugs that are not perscriptions try stopping them and see what tht does to your recall.

Keep a positive attitude and don't give up. Lucid dreaming is great and can take a while to have your first.

You might also want to try WBTB. If you wake up a few hours after going to sleep, it REALLY tends to help your recall. Wake up, reality check, record any dreams you remember, then either go back to sleep or attempt to WILD. WBTB works best if you train yourself to wake up naturally: my favorite way is to go to sleep on top of my blankets, so I'm sure to wake up cold during the night.

Ill try doing wbtb again using the blankets method. My alarm is one of the beepbeepbeepbeep alarms so its hard to concentrate, and it is not in my power to get a new alarm clock at the moment. I will be sure to try your wbtb method tonight

The mind cannot recall dreams because of....it's tired, you put too much strain/pressure to want to remember your dreams. Let it go it'll come to you just forget about dreaming for like a few nights?....You may be amazed that it's better than you thought..happened to me.

hey, im new to this forum, just been reading around and some of you seem to be having similar problems to what i had when i first started. i found reading about lucid dreaming, going over and over the key points just before i went to sleep really helped me, but library books and philosophy books were very vague and explained it more than taught it, so i got this small ebook and printed it off. a nice simple read before bed seems to help if the infos concise enough. hope this helps
