      two LD's the first night??

so this is my first post. i've been lurkin for a couple weeks tho. lol i actually discovered LDing when i was bored one day and remembered having a LD when i was younger. i remembered that in my dream i somehow found out i was dreaming and i got to run around and do whatever i wanted bc i knew it was just a dream and nothing really mattered. i googled "knowing you're dreaming" and found out quite a good bit of info. the whole subject just fascinated me. i read up on it for a couple hours or so and pretty much found out all the basics plus some.

that same night, before i had even got a dream journal or anything, i had 2 lucid dreams. i wasnt in very much control of them and they were a bit fuzzy, but in both of them, i realized i was dreaming and immediately started flying around everywhere (i guess i just wanted to fly haha).

but since then, i've got a journal, started recording in it, and working on my dream recall. my recall isnt that great and i'm lucky if i remember 2 dreams in one night (it's only been 2 or 3 weeks though so it hasn't been long).

i havent had any more LDs since that first night. i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this before? and maybe why i had TWO lucids the first night but havent been able to manage one since. lol i've had a couple CRAZY ass dreams (one involving walking up on Dwight from the show "The Office" having sex with this gorgeous girl and the girl wanting me to join. WTFFFF I KNOW haha but thats a completely different story). i mean thats some crazy shit. u would think i would've thought, "hold on, that's a bit odd." haha but nope, in my dream it seemed completely normal. lol

      Clever username.

      Anyways, welcome to dreamviews!

I had two lucids one night, a few days after I began RCing and keeping a DJ. I'm sure other people have, too. Sometimes there's a large gap in between lucid dreams. Take it from me - last month, there was a time period of a week where I didn't have any.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Well, I think that the more you think about LDing, the more likely you'll get a LD. That is part of it (I would know ). Because when I leave this site (I've been gone for about 2 months) I lose my ability to get 15 LD's a month, down to one. Anyway, I don't mean to brag, just the more you think about it, the more likely you'll get one, that seems to be one of the variables. So, since you read up on it for a few hours the first day, I betcha that the first day is when you were thinking about it the most. So, keep thinking about LDing and doing other techniques, and more should follow!

well since that first night i havent had a SINGLE DILD buuuut last night i successfully had my first WBTB WILD which was a crazy experience. i only stayed lucid for about a minute or two but it was definitely an experience.

there was something i was wondering though. i've been trying to train myself to constantly be aware of my surroundings and do rc's when any of my dream signs pop up, but i never seem to actually be aware of my surroundings in the dream world. once u get more experience LDing is it easier to recognize the difference between real life and dream life or do i just have to keep training myself to pick up on dream signs? like if i was to start WILDing more often, would that help me to notice when i was dreaming normally or do i just need to give the "conscious" more training?

It should get easier. Once you're past the hard beginning and get 10 or so, it gets easier. You won't always have to RC like that. The more LD's you get, the more you recognize the "dream aura" as I call it. So, not only may you get lucid because of odd occurences or an RC, but also because you kinda just recognize the dream environment. I think, since you don't even notice things in your dreams, you'd probably would be no worse off if you just did RC's randomly. If you do the randomly, they should hopefully "randomly" show up in your dreams .
