      Reality Check fail

      Hey guys,

I decided I'd give W.I.L.D. another go, since I'm very interested in Lucid Dreams, yet I still haven't been able to get one. Well, I got one, but my cat got me out of that one right after it started because he wanted some catfood.
Anyway, I tried to W.I.L.D yesterday evening, but sadly it was a no go. Then at 6:30, my dad called me because he thaught I'd already be awake. I wasn't, but had a nice conversation with him anyway, after which I started to sleep again.
When I woke up at 9 am, I started remembering my dream. I'll give a synopsis of everything I can remember.

I was trying to get to RockWerchter on my bike. I already worried that my tire was going to pop and sadly, that was exactly what happened. Luckily for me, there was a "rent a bike" shop at the side of the road. When I got there, there were two guys trying to switch a motorcycle for another motorcycle which was kinda weird. I told the owner of the shop I needed a new bike and he said he would see what he could do for me. Then he started performing some weird show involving bats coming out of his mouth and clothes. (I still didn't realize how weird this was).
Suddenly I skipped a few hours and woke up somewhere in my room (in my dream), at which point I was really pissed off, because I just missed Rockwerchter. I decided to go back to pick up my bike, but the bikeshop seemed to have turned into a shoppingmall. I was really confused at that point, but I built up my courage to speak to the owner anyway. As I expected, he was the same guy that owned the bike shop that was there yesterday. I tried to explain what was happening to me, but I was having a really hard time, because this situation was just to weird. I told myself I'd start breaking things if he said he knew nothing about a bikeshop, but still wasn't able to say something to the guy.
That's when I thought this might just be a dream, mostly because the bike shop had just turned into a grocery shop, and also because I just couldn't believe I missed RockWerchter. I quickly remembered a Reality Check, which was the one where you try to put your finger through your hand, which I learned from a friend. That's where the bullshit started happening, because my finger didn't go trough my hand at all, and I realized I actually missed RockWerchter. I asked the shop owner what happened to my bike and the bikeshop and he told me he felt sad for me and told me he would try to do something to me it better. I was surprised he actually remembered the bike shop, which was another conformation that I wasn't dreaming at all.

Luckily, I woke up from my nightmarish dream, because of my alarm clock. I was relieved when I realized that I hadn't missed RockWerchter at all, but that relievement quickly went away when I realized I missed a perfect opportunity for a Lucid Dream! I'm really pissed off now, because that RC didn't work. Now I'm starting to think I did something wrong, or that I'm a superbeing for making that connection while sleeping. Is there anything I can do better to have a lucid dream in the future? Is there some almost none failing method for a RC?

tl;dr: Had a dream, used a RC, RC failed, what do?

Try multiple RCs when you think you're dreaming, as they fail sometimes. Sorry about the LD loss!
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

Not a good RC...You feel pain in dream actually.
Try pinching your nose instead...If you can breath, you are dreaming.

Or try the memory check. If you can't remember what you did before the present, or if you remember falling asleep before the present, you're dreaming.

The finger through the palm RC never works for me :/ neither does the counting fingers. The nose plug RC usually works for me, but after a while I forget what it means when I can breathe and I am like, oh this is real life. You can't forget the meaning of the RC like I do sometimes or it is pointless :/ The memory check is good too. And looking for a mirror to see if you look different or just jumping to see how gravity works.
