My plan to attain lucid dream

So I'm fairly new to lucid dreaming, I've been trying to WILD for about 3 weeks now with only 2 dreams, but today I had an idea. I was thinking back to before I had even heard about lucid dreaming and I would set my alarm on my phone. Sometimes I would have a different ringer than usual and when it would go off I would be half awake and hear it but think to myself that it wasn't the correct ringer (correct reason for me to get up if you will) and that I could sleep longer. It would go off and it would kind of induce a dream in a way or if I was dreaming already I could here it but not recognize that it was my alarm. Then I would come to and realize oh shit! I'm going to be late for class! So I was thinking tonight I would set my alarm for about 2-3 hours after I go to sleep with a different ringtone (something relaxing). And if I was dreaming then I would realize it and become lucid (kind of like in Inception when the time the kick). And if I wasn't dreaming then I would either induce a dream or just wake up and try to WILD my way into one. What do you guys think? Would it work?

That's actually part of a WILD/DEILD technique, believe it or not. However, you need to have an alarm that shuts off automatically.

Set the alarm to go off about 5-6 hours after you go to bed, so you get at least 5 hours of sleep. When it wakes you, do not move. You will be in sleep paralysis or close if you stay perfectly still. Close your eyes and attempt a WILD, try to stay conscious with a breathing exercise, or counting, or however you normally do it.

It skips the steps of relaxation, and works VERY well from my experience. Be sure to reality check from a false awakening, as most WILD dreams begin that way, as do DEILDs (Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dreams).

Good luck! And guess what, you discovered a way that many of us Lucid Dream by yourself! Kudos!
