I've thought about this before but I figure its a discussion worth taking about if not for pure fantasy sake, but maybe future piratical application.... |

I'd say this should be moved to Beyond Dreaming *hint hint Dream Guides*. |

Haha Exactly! I was just thinking because in this world where you can't sneeze without someone else finding out on twitter or fb this should be an opportunity for us to use the one "void" we have to ourselves, dreams, and use them for the greater good. Imagine if we had to get info to a delegate in involved in a HUGE decision that would effect the world. We could call up on the "dream council" for approval then send a messenger to enter his dreams inception style to deliver the message. Though that would be tricky to monitor if people decided to abuse such a power, but then there could be a special task force to deal with abusers. Haha I am purely fantasizing but think of the possibilities. |

Moved to Beyond Dreaming. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I see what you mean. I'm just off in my own world of possibilities. |

I think that the world could be so much different even if shared dreaming isn't real. At the moment, lucid dreaming is practiced by a minority of people (as far as we publicly know, at least). But imagine a world in which people learn how to have lucid dreams from a young age, at school for example. It was once considered a sign of wealth if you could read and write. Now everyone is taught how to. Why then should lucid dreaming always remain an art that is practiced by the minority, when there are so many possibilities in dreams such as practicing what you have learned, and even just having fun. |
|
Exactly! When I was young I couldn't understand why other people couldn't control their dreams like I did. Imagine if we could have a "school" to teach such a thing beyond forums and such. It would be a tool for therapy, and self help just to name a few examples. |

Well it would definitely be a step in the right direction if we had a school for lucid dreaming. But I would like to see, in my lifetime, some kind of integration with mainstream education, like must have been the case with reading and writing at some point in our history. |
|
I can imagine if schools started teaching these ideas say, when kids are in middle school. I think it would cut down on a lot of depression especially when kids are going through the "wonderful" time that is puberty. |

Don't get yourself down about what other people think! I would see this more toward the AP side than with dreaming, simply because in one sense, the Astral realms are created by the collective consciousness of all self-conscious beings, where as the dream realm is created by one dreamer and populated by it's subconscious projections. Though, if your thoughts were to become a reality, it would be extremely useful, with an uncountable number of opportunities that would previously be unavailible to accomplish in the physical. |

I am thinking about this more and more. Defiantly would have to start with some dream sharing. To have (what my vision is) multiple people in one shared space at one given time it would require a huge amount of brain power and will.....things that I don't think are outside the reach of some of the people here. As I imagine it would have to evolve to some sort of AP plane for some of the things I originally listed. I believe the human mind is capable of so much and achieving some of my ideas wouldn't be too far fetched. It would be sensible to have a sort of "architect" (Inception style) who would provide the space but not necessarily be a part of the conversation among the people in that space. I believe this would ensure that all the people in the space are not lost say one of them suddenly wakes up. Again, I am still shooting from the hip on these ideas but I wouldn't be opposed to some serious experimentation or research. |

Here's a thought. By law of physics I guess, when more than one person experiences the same thing, (ie location, sensation, sight, taste whatever) it is considered reality. So if a couple of people were to share the same dream they would be technically creating a new reality. hmmm.... |

This is great. I think the main blockade is the fact that this is untreaded territory. No one has attempted this,(Or at least recorded it) so there are no guidelines as to where to begin, what to do, what time is good, etc., etc.. So we are at a loss. I believe that if there were a lot of smart and open minded people working on finding an answer to this, it would be a wonderful learning experience. Just... It's difficult to take the first step, when you're left standing in the dark, searching for a light switch. You understand what I'm getting at? I'm not saying that it's fantasy, just that, as any innovations, you have to take some leaps of faith. |

Yes...and I want to break that barrier and really get into this stuff. I have done some research on this but I plan to devote a lot of time trying to get some shared dreaming going. |
